Research On Maker Space Design Based On The Transformation Of Old Industrial Buildings

In recent years,with China’s economic transformation and urban industrial restructuring,many traditional industrial enterprises in the city have moved out of the city,leaving a large number of idle old industrial buildings.At the same time,driven by the policy of “mass entrepreneurship and innovation,” the demand for the construction of urban maker space is also increasing.The old industrial buildings in the city provide a new space carrier for the construction of maker space.In this context,based on the suitability study of the transformation of old industrial buildings and the construction of maker space,this thesis takes Jigang old industrial buildings as the design practice object,puts forward targeted design principles and design strategies,and finally applies them to the design practice,in order to provide useful reference and guidance for the transformation of old industrial buildings and the design of maker space in the future.Based on the relevant research at home and abroad,this thesis studies the types,value embodiment,classification characteristics of old industrial building renovation,as well as the characteristics,combination methods and functional composition of maker space.At the same time,combined with relevant cases,the suitability of transforming old industrial buildings into maker space is explored.This thesis takes the old industrial buildings of Jigang as the object of design practice.Firstly,it analyzes the current situation of the base,discusses the value of historical culture,science and technology,social economy and spiritual art contained in the old industrial buildings,and summarizes the old industrial buildings of Jigang.Secondly,it puts forward the design objectives and principles of transforming old industrial buildings into maker space,and summarizes the design strategies of building facade transformation design,site environment improvement design,internal space transformation and reorganization,and indoor space environment optimization.Finally,the design strategy is verified by the design practice of Jigang Maker space.
