A Study Of The Localization Of Hainan’s Residential Design In The Context Of Li Folk Culture

Based on Hainan’s unique geographical location and tourism resources,this study introduces the theoretical research of local characteristics,takes the traditional residential culture of the Li ethnic group as the starting point,and combines the Li ethnic residential culture with the design of Hainan homestays from the perspective of design science by means of Field research,literature review and case analysis,so as to deepen the local design strategy of Hainan homestays and provide theoretical reference for the local design of Hainan homestays.The promulgation of policies for Hainan International Tourism Island and Hainan Free Trade Port has made Hainan’s homestay industry an indispensable component of Hainan’s tourism development,attracting more and more tourists to yearn for natural scenery and slow paced life.At present,there is still room for development in the depth and breadth of research on Hainan homestay design.For example,although some homestay designs consciously incorporate regional cultural elements,the homogenization of homestay design styles and the indiscriminate abuse of cultural elements often occur.Li culture,as the most distinctive local culture of Hainan Island,has developed distinctive and unique Li traditional dwellings with historical changes.It is not only a symbol of the wisdom of the Li people,but also an important crystallization of the development of traditional villages in Hainan.In addition to Li traditional cultural theme scenic spots,Li traditional dwellings and their settlements have gradually become uninhabited hollow villages.Therefore,this study focuses on the local design of Hainan homestays under the Li ethnic residential culture,aiming to focus on the protection and inheritance of local elements of Li ethnic residential culture,in order to seize the opportunity for the development of Hainan homestays and provide theoretical support for Hainan homestay design.The introduction section of this study explains the reason,research purpose,and significance of the topic selection.Through extensive field research,combined with the collection of relevant materials such as classics,county chronicles,journals,and literature,the current status of homestays,Li ethnic dwellings,and local research is summarized,and the content,purpose,and methods of this study are elaborated.The main text is divided into four chapters.The first chapter first provides a theoretical overview of Li culture,the development of Hainan homestays,and the local characteristics.Through practical cases of local construction at home and abroad,it discusses the local design of homestays,and further explores the significance of local research in the development of homestays;Chapter 2,after summarizing the overview of Li traditional dwellings,takes Li traditional dwellings as the research focus of this chapter,summarizes their evolution types and formation factors,analyzes the construction techniques and affiliated buildings of Li traditional dwellings,and distinguishes the local characteristics of Li traditional dwellings;Chapter 3 analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of Hainan homestay design and its current application status in local elements.By extracting local elements of Li ethnic residential culture in Hainan homestay design,design considerations and suggestions are proposed for the construction of local expression channels for Hainan homestays;Chapter 4 organically combines the "scenery natural environment elements","emotion local humanistic elements",and "meaning dominant elements of residential design" of Li ethnic residential culture summarized in the previous text with Hainan homestay design.It summarizes how to apply the responsive strategy of natural environment,the linkage strategy of cultural environment,and the humanization strategy of venue environment to Hainan homestay design,so that it has a deeper humanistic heritage,Provide theoretical reference and reference for the local design strategy of Hainan homestays based on the Li ethnic residential culture in the future.Local homestays have transformed Li traditional dwellings into modern commercial,service,and experiential venues,protecting the local elements of Li residential culture while forming industrial effects,providing additional impetus for rural economic development,and assisting in the construction of high-quality urban and rural environments in Hainan International Free Trade Port,revitalizing traditional dwellings with vitality.
