With the acceleration of urbanization and the improvement of intelligent transportation system, people’s demand for transportation is becoming more and more diversified.ICT(information and communication technologies),as an emerging concept and technology field formed by the integration of information technology(it)and communication technology(CT),is connected with people’s travel information through intelligent transportation system, providing people with more accurate travel information,so that people’s daily travel mode and frequency have changed to a certain extent. This background urges transportation scholars to study the interactive relationship between ICT use and residents’ travel behavior. In terms of travel frequency, most of the existing studies analyze the influencing factors of residents’ travel frequency from the perspective of travel frequency of a single mode of transportation, and the studies focusing on the travel frequency of different modes of transportation also adopt the method of independent analysis for modeling. Therefore,it is necessary to take the joint modeling of multi-mode travel frequency as the breakthrough point and comprehensively consider the impact of ICT use on the travel frequency of multiple modes of transportation. In order to study the impact of ICT use on individual travel frequency of different transportation modes, this paper takes the multiple choices of individual travel modes under ICT use as the discrete part, and selects the number of travel modes,i.e.travel frequency,as the continuous part, constructs a multiple discrete continuous extreme value(mdcev)model for residents’ multiple choices of transportation modes and travel frequency allocation,Based on the travel survey data of Beijing residents in 2018,the variable calibration model parameters are extracted. At the same time, taking the car as the benchmark variable, the influencing factors of multi-mode travel frequency of public transport, walking and cycling are analyzed from four aspects: personal socio-economic attributes, family attributes, travel attitude and ICT use.The results show that the fitting degree of γ-profile utility function in mdcev model is better thanα-profile.In terms of transportation mode selection,Beijing residents are more inclined to choose public transportation and various low-carbon and environmentally friendly transportation modes such as walking and cycling under the use of ICT.In the attribute variables of ICT use,the frequency of telephone use has a significant negative effect on the frequency of public transport, walking and bicycle travel, while the frequency of social media and shared bicycle use has a significant positive effect on the frequency of public transport, walking and bicycle travel, and the frequency of online shopping only has a significant negative effect on public transport. In order to further explore the impact of ICT use on Residents’ travel frequency under different urbanization backgrounds, according to the classification standard of Beijing Statistical Yearbook, this paper divides Beijing into three types of Urbanization: central urban area, suburban area and outer suburban area, and uses mdcev model to analyze the significance of influencing factors. The results show that for residents in central urban areas,ICT use has a neutral effect on multi-mode travel frequency; For residents in suburban areas, the promotion between ICT use and travel frequency plays a dominant role; The impact of ICT use on travel frequency shows a substitution effect. The substitution(negative effect),complementarity(positive effect)and neutral(insignificant)effects of ICT use on Residents’ multi-mode travel frequency exist at the same time in the research sample of this paper.Specifically, the impact of telephone frequency and online shopping frequency on individual multi-mode travel frequency shows a substitution and neutral effect, while the use frequency of social media and shared bicycle play a complementary and neutral role on individual multi-mode travel frequency. The research results of this paper can further enrich the theoretical research on the relationship between ICT use and traffic behavior, and also provide a new idea for the model construction between them.
