| Nowadays, project management through BIM has been widely used in developed countries.Using this technology can improve the production efficiency of construction projects and the level of project management to better achieve project objectives. In the past, the design and construction of electrical equipment and pipelines were completely separated, resulting in problems such as collision in installation during the construction process. Finally, problems such as out of control progress, cost overrun, poor quality, increased engineering changes and repeated design modifications occurred in the project.Tanzania,as a developing country, also faces the above problems. It has not yet adapted to use BIM Technology in the design and construction of the pipeline system of the construction project, and still adopts the traditional production and construction methods. If BIM is used to guide the design and construction of the pipeline system, this situation will be greatly improved and the project objectives will be achieved efficiently.Based on the above background, this paper first puts forward the pipeline system established by BIM Technology, and explains it in detail.Secondly, several methods of the system are described. The first method includes using BIM for collision detection, and the second method is using thermal energy meter to identify the leakage in the building.Another method is to use a 3D laser scanner to collect data from the building’s piping system, which is calibrated using BIM data acquisition software. Then, through the programming examples of Revit and hidra, this paper introduces how to realize the installation of piping system in high-rise buildings to achieve better results.Considering different building sizes, different functions, different seismic levels, different site types and different construction feasibility, the structural design of the laying pipeline system is determined. The data of a building project that does not involve BIM for piping and electrical installation are compared. This helps us to understand that forms of technology application Tanzania needs in the construction industry,so that we can apply it to other developing countries in the world. Finally,a series of problems faced during the pipeline and electrical installation and construction in Tanzania,as well as the challenges faced by the prefabricated pipeline manufacturing workshop and the lack of information on using BIM to establish and install the pipeline system in the building are put forward, indicating the lack of cooperation between contractors in the project delivery of building pipeline system.Through the research and analysis of using BIM to establish the pipeline system, investigation and exploring the relevant practical applications in today’s construction industry, this paper puts forward the advantages of BIM over the traditional pipeline construction methods,so as to reduce the industry’s dependence on the traditional pipeline installation methods,by raising people’s awareness for the use of BIM for piping system prefabrication, mechanical, electrical and pipeline installation.Compared with the traditional methods,it is concluded that the application of BIM to establish the pipeline system has great advantages in Tanzania’s construction industry and improves the overall level of Tanzania’s construction industry.Although the study is aimed at the construction industry in Tanzania,it is also a constructive reference for many developing countries. |
