| Since the beginning of the new century,China’s automobile industry has been developing by leaps and bounds,and the scale of the industry has been ranked first in the world for many years,and its status and role in the national economy are becoming more and more prominent.In this regard,the development of New Energy Vehicles has become a strategic choice for China,and Hydrogen Vehicles have many advantages,but the industrial development is still in the introduction period,and the consumers do not know enough about Hydrogen Vehicles.Therefore,this paper studies the countermeasures related to the development of Hydrogen Vehicle industry from the consumer perspectives.Firstly,this paper reviews the literature on the potential of hydrogen emission reduction and the current situation of Hydrogen Vehicle industry development,which shows that the potential of hydrogen to reduce emissions is huge,but the development of the industry is still at a preliminary stage.Secondly,the current situation of the development of the global and Chinese Hydrogen Vehicle industry was analyzed from three aspects:policy environment,market dynamics and infrastructure construction.Finally,a questionnaire survey was conducted in Beijing to obtain data,and a Mixed logit model was established to determine the key factors affecting consumers’purchasing decisions,an elasticity analysis of the key attributes was conducted,and further scenarios were set up to simulate the change in consumer choice behaviour with the level of key factors according to the planning and development of Hydrogen Vehicles in Beijing.The main findings of this paper are as follows:First,three vehicle attributes,including purchase cost,driving range and hydrogen refueling station density,have significant effects on consumers’purchase probability of Hydrogen Vehicles,while government subsidies and CO2 emission reduction do not have significant effects;second,consumers show obvious"driving range anxiety"and are most eager to change the current status of inadequate convenience of hydrogen refueling stations.Third,in the context of improving the construction of hydrogen refueling stations and improving the range,consumers’purchase choice will be inclined to Hydrogen Vehicles,but if the purchase cost is added,consumers’purchase choice will be shifted from Hydrogen Vehicles to Pure Electric Vehicles and Conventional Fuel Vehicles.Therefore,this paper suggests that the development of hydrogen vehicle industry should focus on two aspects:firstly,to change the current situation of scarcity of Hydrogen Vehicle infrastructure,secondly,to reduce the purchase cost and improve the economy of Hydrogen Vehicles.In this regard,it is suggested that government should reasonably plan and speed up the construction of hydrogen refueling infrastructure network,provide reasonable financial subsidies to Hydrogen Vehicles enterprises,mobilize the enthusiasm of enterprises in production and R&D,expand the scale of mass production of Hydrogen Vehicles to ensure the economy,so as to obtain sufficient consumer support.The car manufacturers should increase the publicity on the advantages of Hydrogen Vehicles,such as environmental protection,long driving range,etc.,to improve consumers’awareness of Hydrogen Vehicles and thus promote the change of consumers’actual purchasing behavior from Conventional Fuel Vehicles to Hydrogen Vehicles. |
