| As the sacred architectural space of religion, temples occupy a very important position in ancient urban space and social life.As the initial capital and the provisional capital after the capital was moved, the construction and development of religious buildings in Nanjing always occupied a place throughout the Ming Dynasty, which has considerable research value. However, for a long time, the focus of the research on the religious buildings in Nanjing in the Ming Dynasty has been on the Buddhist temple, while there is little mention of the Taoist temple and The Records of Taoist Temple in Jinling. The construction and development, site selection and distribution, architectural layout and configuration of the Taoist temple are closely related to the spatial structure, management and operation and daily life of the city. The special political status of Nanjing makes the development of the Taoist temple intertwined with many forces such as the royal family, the government, the gentry and the ordinary people. Therefore, the study of the Taoist temple in Nanjing in the Ming Dynasty is not only helpful to grasp the impact of religious policies and various forces on the construction of the Taoist temple in the Ming Dynasty, fully understand the distribution and architectural layout of the Taoist temple in Nanjing, but also help to understand the relationship between urban life, landscape construction, social education and the Taoist temple in Nanjing in the Ming Dynasty, and enrich the understanding of traditional cities,it is of great academic and social value to the development of urban renewal and historical and cultural heritage. The research takes the relationship between architecture and city as the main clue, and takes the construction and rise and fall, site selection and layout, and the interactive relationship with the city as the main research content. It is mainly divided into the following three parts:The first part(Chapter 2): It mainly discusses the characteristics of Nanjing Taoist temple construction in the early, middle and late Ming Dynasty. The construction of Nanjing Taoist temple in Ming Dynasty has the most profound influence in the early Ming Dynasty, which has laid the overall pattern of Nanjing Taoist temple, and the construction of this period is mainly promoted by imperial power, which has become one of the main characteristics of Nanjing Taoist temple in Ming Dynasty. In the middle and late Ming Dynasty, when Nanjing became the provisional capital, the influence of imperial power weakened.Although local officials and gentry began to intervene in the construction of the Taoist temple, the influence was far less than that in the early Ming Dynasty. The second part(Chapter 3): It mainly discusses the distribution characteristics of the Taoist temple in cities and its influencing factors, site selection, building scale, plane layout and building configuration. The distribution of Taoist temples is mainly affected by urban structure, land and water transportation, belief differences and other factors.A large number of small temples are mainly attached to the urban spatial structure, and some large temples are more complex behind the distribution and location because of the long history or the relationship between royal imperial construction. In the architectural layout, the scale of different levels of the Taoist temple is also quite different, which makes the architectural layout also diverse. The high-level Taoist temples have complete regulations and strict layout, and the low-level layout is relatively simple. The third part(Chapter 4): It discusses the relationship between the Taoist temple and the city, and discusses the interactive relationship between the city and the construction of the Taoist temple from the perspectives of authority, lanes, landscapes and cities, combined with the in-depth interpretation of the cases of Chaotiangong,Xiangluan Temple,Sanguantang and Ten Temples. |
