| The concept of urban intersection is proposed in the field of urban science in 2010 as an urban structural unit.Intersections appear where one street crosses another,acting as fundamental nodes embedded in the network of urban public space.The special geographical location of intersections and its related social space determine its importance to urban research,and studies of intersections can contribute to the rational development of urban organizational structure.Though discussed in configurational and perceptive studies,limited attention has been paid to the morphological aspects and influence mechanisms of vitality of intersections.In this study,a classification model for intersection morphological pattern was constructed based on statistical analysis and urban planning theory,where intersections in the Old City of Nanjing,China are taken as main targets.By analyzing experimental results,not only 8 morphological types of intersections be discovered,but also the classification model be verified on the dataset of the Old City of Hefei,China.Moreover,the measurement scheme of vitality and its influence mechanism was experimented and explored by constructing a spatial statistical model.This study proposed and tested a new approach to modeling the urban intersection form.First,effective cylinder was introduced to define the related space for each intersection based on its scale.Second,a set of morphological indicators were presented to measure the physical properties of the intersection form.Third,the affinity propagation algorithm was used to examine the patterns of intersection form.A systematic and comprehensive morphological index system library as well as a classification scheme on morphological pattern are provided afterwards.Furthermore,this study analyzed an influence mechanism of vitality by using multidimensional features to avoid one-sidedness of exploratory factor analysis.A measurement scheme of vitality was conducted on the basis of cellular signaling data,afterwards the spatially heterogeneous effect of characteristic factor was revealed by using geographically weighted regression.This thesis recognized that the spatial distribution of importance of shopping services and transportation facility services on vitality as an approximate circle structure.While influence strength of selectivity and POI density of intersections showed a decreasing trend from the periphery to the center. |
