The new generation of young parents is increasingly motivated by the new culture and new ideas about parent-child interaction. This phenomenon has led to the development of parent-child related industries and the emergence of various parent-child interaction related commercial spaces in the market.Parent-child interactive spaces meet the needs of contemporary parents to interact with their children, but the quality of current parent-child interactive spaces varies in terms of design. This paper firstly takes human senses as the starting point to study the process and way of perceiving external things, and elaborates the theory of multisensory experience, making it clear that only on the basis of the simultaneous action of multiple senses can people receive comprehensive, integrated and accurate information from the external world.Subsequently, the theory of multisensory experience was widely used in the design field and developed into multisensory experience design.Secondly, this paper analyzes in detail the mode of action of each sense of parents and children in parent-child interaction behavior, and then analyzes the current situation of parent-child interaction space to find the problems. Finally, based on the concept of multisensory experience design, the design principles of experience, interaction and safety are proposed for the parent-child interactive space, and then specific design strategies are proposed from the perspectives of visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory and multisensory integration. This paper specifically investigates the design strategies of visual light, color, shape and visual illusion;auditory background sound, sound device and acoustic design;tactile material texture and spatial structure;and olfactory material smell and plant aroma, and proposes the design strategies of dual-sensory synergy, multisensory association and multi-sensory integration. The aim is to provide new ideas for related researchers and new design directions for designers of parent-child interactive spaces.
