Research On Requirements Management For A Company’s Architectural Design Informatization Management Software Project

Abstract/Summary:
In recent years,the competition between companies in the architecture design industry has become increasingly fierce,resulting in lower project bidding prices.The requierments for cost reduction and increased success in bidding projects within design companies has become stronger.The study focuses on company A,a private architectural design enterprise with over 400 employees that is one of the earliest in China to establish modern management practices.A is a high-tech design company that combines production with research and has been recognized as one of the top 100 contemporary architectural design companies in China.Their need for information construction and construction process is typical in the private design industry.After a bidding process,A chose B,a company specializing in providing enterprise informationization,collaborative design,computer-aided design,engineering construction lifecycle management,and government informationization services to various types of engineering survey and design companies,to implement their design management software project.However,the cooperation between A and B was tumultuous,exposing several problems such as dissatisfaction with software quality,differences in requirements and expectations,and dissenting opinions on various functionalities and requirements.After repeated modifications and communication efforts,the first phase of the software project was finally approved.Based on relevant theories of software engineering and interview survey statistics,the author identifies the cause of software quality problems in the first stage of this project as software requirements.Four main problem phenomena in the obvious and statistical results of the project: unclear stakeholders,insufficient requierment priority evaluation system,defect of requierments description and constant change of requierments.By comparing the causes of software requierments management in CMMI and related links in requierments engineering,the improvement ideas are obtained.By using quantitative analysis methods such as SIPOC model,modified power and influence model and Kano model,and using SA & UML Unified Modeling Language,Axure interface prototype and other tools,concrete countermeasures are provided.The results of this paper include: 1.A set of requierments management improvement framework suitable for Company A has been constructed.This framework has certain universality for the optimization of information management in the architectural design industry,aiming at the common characteristics and problems of information management in the architectural design industry.2.By extending the connotation of power and influence model as decision power and change power,the design improvement model combined with Kano model solves the priority ranking problem between different categories of stakeholders and different requierment items.3.It verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of the requierments management improvement framework proposed in this paper in practice.
