Urban farmers markets are one of the most common public social spaces people engage in.In recent years,with the development of modern cities,the market’s diversified functional models have gradually emerged,and the traditional market consumption space has been greatly impacted.Problems such as single space types and lack of functions can no longer meet people’s growing demand for quality of life.Started to pay attention to food safety and dietary behavior guidelines,and food education and education initiatives emerged in the public eye.Children’s education is also the foundation of national education.The Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China proposed "labor education" and "developing five educations simultaneously" to encourage children to develop quality education in an all-round way and pay attention to life education.However,there is a big gap in the existing urban children’s life education space.Based on the above background,guided by the theory of children’s embodied cognitive science,this study attempts to organize and plan the spatial elements of the farmers’ market rationally,so that the original function of the farmers’ market can be transformed into a complex space.,additional children’s education function and other multi-functional spaces.The thesis is mainly divided into the following three parts: The first part,through literature research,gives an overview of how children recognize each other in space through the body,brain and environment based on the theory of embodied cognitive science.It also analyzes the process and significance of the complex function evolution of the traditional farmer’s market through case studies.The second part combines theoretical knowledge to construct a farmers’ market space design strategy suitable for children’s participation from three aspects:perception,cognition and practice.The third part takes Nanjing Jinxianghe Bazaar as the practice site,and applies the design strategy in the design practice,making the original space function more complex functional attributes and educational value,thus creating a more diversified cognitive agricultural trade market space.In this study,through rethinking,continuing and even innovating the theory of children’s embodied cognition,it is proposed to intervene children’s education in the space update of traditional farmers’ markets,emphasizing the overall The complex and holistic value of the farm market space is conducive to the transformation of the traditional market,realizing the embodied cognition of the farmer’s market space from single to complex,from old to new,from cognition to practice,and from disorder to order The renewal process,which adds new ideas and new methods to its space renewal design.Establish a recognizable urban memory in terms of brand vision,realize the transformation from tradition to modernity in terms of space,promote the transformation of time-sharing sales in the market in terms of commercial operations,and provide a learning and practice base for children’s life cognition in terms of composite functions.Encourage schools and other education departments to cooperate with the market to carry out life practice education courses,activate the spatial vitality of traditional urban farmers’ markets,stimulate children’s cognitive interest in growing up and living,inherit market culture,and improve the cohesion of community residents.
