| Based on the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind,the Chinese government has launched the “the Belt and Road” initiative.The African continent,as an important node along the Belt and Road,is also a key target for Chinese enterprises.Chinese enterprises take advantage of the east wind of the the Belt and Road to settle in Africa,achieving “win-win” cooperation,but also encounter various cross-cultural management problems.The cooperation between China and D Country is a model of “South-South cooperation”.It is necessary to deal with the cross-cultural of the D Country Branch of China Harbour Engineering Co,Ltd.(Abbreviate CHDC)a construction industry enterprise stationed in Africa,and improve the current situation of the company’s cross-cultural management to maintain and continue the diplomatic relationship between China and D Country.The thesis centers on the research object of China Harbour Engineering Company Limited’s subsidiary in Country D.Focusing on the practical issues within its cross-cultural management,this study employs relevant theories,models,and methodologies of cross-cultural management.Through a comprehensive utilization of literature analysis,questionnaire surveys,and in-depth interviews,it conducts research to conduct an in-depth analysis of the existing cross-cultural management issues and underlying causes within the company.Based on the author’s five-year work experience in East Africa and the three research results concerning the current status,strategies,and implementation outcomes of cross-cultural management among the company’s employees,this thesis deeply explores the existing issues and causes of cross-cultural management in China Harbour Engineering Company Limited’s subsidiary in Country D.Drawing from the research findings,targeted strategies for effective cross-cultural management are proposed,including strengthening cross-cultural communication,implementing cross-cultural training,fostering cross-cultural integration among employees,establishing a sound localizing system,and optimizing salary,benefits,and promotion mechanisms in the local context.It is expected that this thesis will provide reference and suggestions for the long-term and stable development of CHDC in D Country and enhance its competitiveness in Africa,improving the industrial development capacity of Africa and promoting the sustainable development of friendly cooperation between China and D Country. |
