Design Of Traditional Village Homestay Space Based On Genius Loci

Genius Loci is composed of the unique regional background and spatial memory of each space,which is the condensation and expression of the historical traces and cultural attributes of the place.Traditional village architecture is the product of people adapting to nature and settling down in it.Influenced by the local natural environment and cultural environment,the morphological characteristics of buildings often have obvious regional cultural characteristics.Traditional village home stay facility as the carrier of rural culture,contact with the regional and contemporary life world and spiritual world,but with the expansion of rural tourism and rural home stay facility market,rural home stay facility failed to seize the change of contemporary lifestyle and thought,invalid to spiritual standardization design,makes the rural home stay facility has lost the humanistic care,also depressed the local culture and regional properties.As a result,foreign tourists have lost the most direct experience with the local culture and lifestyle,and the spiritual connotation of the architecture has gradually disappeared.In view of this phenomenon,starting from the transformation of contemporary people’s life style and spiritual connotation,guided by the analysis of the place elements,characteristic elements and design elements,the design strategy of the traditional village homestay space is put forward.This study is divided into four parts.Firstly,the literature research method is used to clarify the historical background and philosophical basis of the site spirit theory,analyze the meaning and structure of the site;explain the connotation of the site spirit and provide the theoretical basis for the design strategy.Secondly,through the combing and induction of theory and literature,the definition of the place and the spirit of the contemporary context are updated and constructed from the perspective of contemporary context.Thirdly,the relationship between the spirit of place and the space of traditional village homestay is deeply analyzed,and the design strategy of traditional village homestay space is guided by the theory of place spirit.Through the analysis of the structure of the space,the site structure,the cultural elements,the natural environment intervention symbiosis and the interactive experience emotional enhancement are obtained.Finally,through the investigation and analysis of the traditional village homestay space in Qingshuihe,the practice of the design strategy is verified from the four strategy points.
