Research On The Design Of Urban Waterfront Space Vitality Creation

Urban waterfront space refers to the specific spatial section along the river city where water and land are connected,including "water,waterline and land area".It is usually characterized by ecological richness,public openness,cultural richness,and high recognition.On the one hand,urban waterfront space is an important environmental landscape resource in cities,on the other hand,it plays an important role in creating open space,inheriting history and culture,and promoting economic development,and is the carrier of urban vitality.With the rapid development of urbanization and industrialization,a series of serious ecological and environmental problems have emerged slowly,such as water quality,soil and air pollution,which seriously threaten the originally popular waterfront space and put it in a difficult situation,thus failing to meet people’s growing demand for high-quality water environment.Therefore,how to improve the quality of urban waterfront space and stimulate the vitality of urban waterfront space has become a hot issue.This paper takes vitality creation as the entry point,proposes the components of urban waterfront space vitality creation,and proposes corresponding design strategies through four dimensions: ecological,social,cultural and economic,to enhance the vitality of urban waterfront space and create a multi-functional urban waterfront space.By studying and exploring the connection between urban waterfront space and vitality,the design method of urban waterfront space vitality creation is constructed in order to provide some referenceable suggestions for future related designs.This paper compares the development history of urban waterfront space from the theoretical and practical levels,and clarifies the basic connotation of urban waterfront space and urban waterfront space vitality.Practical research method,literature research method,case study method and empirical method are used to conduct the research.Through Cite Space and VOSviewer software,we collected and organized a large number of theories and research results about urban waterfront space at home and abroad,and summarized and analyzed the elements of vitality of urban waterfront space;we selected excellent cases of urban waterfront space at home and abroad for comparison,and analyzed the reference of excellent cases at home and abroad in four dimensions: ecological vitality,social vitality,cultural vitality and economic vitality.The design strategies and methods for enhancing the vitality of urban waterfront spaces are summarized,and the commonalities and differences in the creation of vitality of urban waterfront spaces at home and abroad are summarized.Based on the above research,the article summarizes sixteen design strategies for the creation of urban waterfront space vitality in four dimensions: ecological,social,cultural,and economic.Through constructing the ecosystem,stimulating the behavior of people,continuing the history and culture,and expanding the consumption space,the ecological,social,cultural and economic vitality of the urban waterfront space is enhanced.The waterfront space of the Caochangmen section of the Qinhuai River in Nanjing is used as a case design site,and the site is divided into four areas: green ecology,social activities,cultural experience,and tourism and leisure,with the hope of building an urban waterfront space that integrates ecological environment,cultural heritage,social interaction,and economic development.This paper aims to use rigorous scientific theoretical methods,solid research data and a large number of case studies as a guide,and combine the actual situation of the Caochangmen section of Nanjing Qinhuai River to design the vitality of urban waterfront space in four dimensions: ecological,social,cultural and economic,in the hope that it can provide a reference for the vitality enhancement of urban waterfront space in the future.
