The current urban environmental pollution problem is getting more and more serious, and people’s demand for the ecological quality of urban environment is increasing;in such a context, the ecological quality of riverine landscape has received unprecedented attention.Restorative potential is also an important function of riverine landscape. If ecological quality and restorative potential can co-exist highly in riverine landscape, they play a vital role in improving the overall quality of riverine landscape.Previous studies have only investigated one of the two,and theories and design practices exploring the relationship and coexistence between the two are rare.Based on this, this research selected ten representative sample sites from the Heping Bridge to the West Third Ring Road through field research on the abandon Yellow River riparian zone in Xuzhou City, and after four seasons of research and investigation, evaluated the restorative potential of the sample sites by the Self Rating Restoration Scale and calculated their ecological quality by using the QBR index, and obtained the values of ecological quality and coexistence of restorative potential of the ten sample sites in the whole year by using the formula calculation. The results showed that there were significant differences in the coexistence degree between the four seasons.Based on this,13 landscape characteristics reflecting the objective characteristics of the study object were constructed using quantitative techniques, and then the mean of the coefficients of variation of each feature in different seasons was calculated to represent the seasonal diversity index.Curve estimation and scatter plots were used to explore the relationship between the seasonal diversity index and the average coexistence of the sample sites throughout the year;correlation analysis was used to analyze the relationship between the coexistence of the sample sites and the landscape elements in different seasons. The main conclusions of this research are:(1)The ecological quality, restorative potential and coexistence level of the abandon Yellow River riparian zone in Xuzhou are the highest in spring;the lowest in winter;and the middle in summer and autumn.(2)The riverine landscape environment with medium degree of landscape change in all seasons has the highest ecological quality and coexistence of restorative potential throughout the year.(3)The higher the naturalness of water bodies in summer, the higher the coexistence level;the better the quality of water bodies and the higher the accessibility of water in autumn and winter, the higher the coexistence level.(4)Calculated by the mean value of the annual change degree of each landscape characteristics, the accessibility of water has a greater influence on the landscape appearance throughout the year;there is a significant difference between the accessibility of water and most of the landscape characteristics, and they are the landscape characteristics that have the greatest influence on the overall landscape appearance of the riverine landscape. The conclusion of this thesis provides a theoretical basis for the comprehensive design of riparian landscape in response to seasonal changes, and provides a design method to improve the coexistence of ecological quality and healing effect throughout the year. There are 28 figures,25 tables and 94 references in this thesis.
