The National Vocational College Skills Competition(referred to as the National Competition)is a national vocational college student skills competition initiated and led by the Ministry of Education,jointly organized by relevant departments of the State Council,industry organizations,and local governments.It is also the national vocational college skills competition with the widest professional coverage,the largest number of participants,the greatest social impact,and the most comprehensive joint sponsoring departments.As one of the professional events in the field of transportation vehicle application and maintenance in the national competition,the body repair competition has been successfully held for fourteen times since 2009.The national competition for car body repair not only provides a platform to display the training results of professional body repair talents in vocational colleges,show the elegant demeanour of teachers and students participating in the competition,but also promotes the sustainable development of vocational education by promoting learning,teaching and reforming through competition,and improves the education and teaching level of professional body repair in vocational colleges.At the same time,cultivate a large number of high-quality body repair skills for the automobile repair industry.When studying the sub event of steel panel shaping and repair in the transportation vehicle body repair competition of the National Vocational Skills Competition(Vocational Group),the problem found is that the repaired damaged car door skin is difficult to achieve stable and meet the technical requirements of the skills competition based on the existing repair process and construction process of the competition.As a result,the performance of this sub event is not ideal and there is little room for further improvement.How to improve the repair quality of damaged car door skins,enhance the stability of players’ performance in this field,and improve the performance of car body repair events has become an urgent problem for participating colleges to solve.Based on the conditions of the National Competition and the shortcomings of current repair methods,this paper develops a new idea for repairing the car door skin.By using simulation technology to analyze the deformation and stress distribution of the door skin,the damage analysis of the door skin was conducted again,and targeted development was carried out in the repair process according to the technical requirements of the competition.Ultimately,the repair quality of the door skin was stable,and the scoring rate of this competition increased by 55%.Firstly,analyze the test question settings,technical requirements,and scoring rules for this sub event,analyze the process and final repair results of repairing the door skin using traditional methods,and provide a detailed analysis of the reasons for the loss of points in the door skin repaired using traditional methods.Find out the problems and develop new repair ideas.Secondly,using ANSYS to simulate the process of door skin damage in the setting of questions in the competition,the detailed deformation and internal stress distribution of the damaged door skin are obtained.Thirdly,based on the simulation results,the damage condition of the door skin,and the defects of traditional methods,the damage area was decomposed to adapt to the new repair idea.Based on the decomposed damage area,targeted development was conducted on the usage methods and skills of repair tools in the sheet metal hammer pad iron operation method,and a door skin repair process and construction process that meets the technical requirements of the skills competition and has stable repair quality were re developed.Finally,a large number of repair experiments were conducted to verify the newly developed repair process,and it was verified that its feasibility and reliability were very high.The player’s operation was stable,and the repair quality of the damaged area of the car door skin,especially in terms of high and low point control,flatness recovery,and other aspects,was far higher than traditional repair methods.The competition performance of this sub event improved significantly.The newly developed processes have made certain contributions to improving the skill level and competition results of contestants,enhancing the ability of vocational school students to identify and solve problems,and promoting the development of the technical level of the body repair event in skill competitions.
