In the modern industrial production,sheet metal has used more and more widely in petrochemical,mechanism,automobile,ships,aeronautics,metallurgy and astronautics and so on.However,currently available sheet metal design and unfolding system not only without taking into account the thickness of sheet metal but also can not accurately obtain the interface information and instead of making approximate processing.In order to solve the above problem,CAD technology has been used to study and develop a parameterized modeling and unfolding of sheet metal system.The system includes the thickness of the handle and be able to acquire the accurate interface information.According to the actual production needs,the actual interface information mathematical model of four types of sheet metal can be acquired by graphic and analytic method which considering the thickness handle.And the unfolding mathematical model is derived according to the actual interface information mathematical model.On the basis of the mathematical models,parameterized modeling and unfolding of curved surface of sheet metal can be realized.In the illustrated method,the critical point and the interface curves and other information of sheet metal interface can be made by using the method of geometric transformation;In the analytical method,the mathematical model of the actual interface curve,the neutral curve and the interface surface of sheet metal can be accurately acquired.Based on the above mathematical model,the expansion of sheet metal of pipes with real interface can be realized in UG by means of UG secondary development.In this paper,a system of unfolding of sheet metal with thickness has been set up and developed.The operating system is based on UG NX8.0 as the platform,in the use of the UG secondary development tools such as UG/Open MenuScript,UG/Open API,Visual Studio 2012and programming language orientating objects C#.
