Evaluation Of Urban Public Cemetery Space Quality From The Perspective Of Field Theory

Cemeteries carry vivid historical and cultural significance,and can provide eternal and evolving commemorative sites for the living and the deceased.With the rapid increase of urban population and the increasingly tense relationship between people and land,the main problems faced by China’s cemetery land are the excessive concentration of space occupied by traditional cemeteries,low utilization rate of space,poor ornamental quality of tomb environment construction,and lack of humanistic connotation.How to promote the sustainable development of cemetery environment construction while meeting the current development needs of landscaping,land conservation,and humanization in urban public cemeteries is a new challenge in urban construction.The "Field Theory" is a theory first proposed by the field of physics that can explain the abstract relationships of physical metaphors.It has been extensively explored in the field of sociology.Bourdieu’s interpretation of social relationships in the field theory and Lefebvre’s space production theory,with urban spatial development relationships as the core,can be used for the analysis of cultural space and is suitable for the study of cemetery spaces with cultural values as the core.This article first summarizes the connotation and application scenarios of field theory,and combines the characteristics of urban public cemetery spatial landscape perception,cultural experience,and funeral measures in the research field of cemetery spatial quality at home and abroad.It is determined that the focus of this study is on the measurement of cemetery spatial perception.Next,based on the characteristics of the three important descriptive objects in field theory,namely "field","habit",and "capital",a quality evaluation system for urban public cemetery space in Hainan was constructed by studying the cultural and landscape characteristics of cemetery space.The quality of cemetery space was evaluated from two evaluation dimensions: spatial perception and cultural perception,A questionnaire survey was used to investigate the dimension of cultural perception characterized by unquantifiable measurement.SD semantics and SBE beauty method were combined to measure the perceived spatial quality of cemetery landscapes.Through a survey of the development of cemetery space in major cities in Hainan,a survey was conducted on the current status and willingness to use cemetery space in the northern economic zone.The survey subjects were divided by professional background,and professional and non professional groups were selected to participate in the three stages of survey: willingness to use cemetery survey,beauty measurement survey,and semantic analysis.The survey was conducted by combining SBE beauty measurement method with SD semantic analysis method,Analyze and obtain two key dimensions of public perception of cemetery landscape,namely emotional characteristics and facility characteristics,as well as four key elements: spatial sense,quietness,crowding degree,and comfort.Construct a spatial quality evaluation model for urban public cemetery: Y=0.650* spatial sense+0.874 * quietness degree+0.928 * crowding degree+0.853 * comfort degree.Finally,a summary of the mechanism of landscape expression in the cemetery space is presented.Based on the current lack of cultural core driving force,obstacles in landscape optimization,lack of humanistic care,and maintenance management issues faced by the development of Hainan cemeteries,three landscape optimization and enhancement ideas are proposed: enhancing the cultural value of the field,activating capital vitality,and reshaping habitual spaces.Based on the three paths,it provides development ideas for the sacrificial atmosphere,cultural interest,maintenance of tomb sites in the cemetery area,plant configuration,and management and operation of infrastructure,which has important reference significance for improving the spatial quality of public cemeteries in Hainan cities.
