| Under the background of the country’s vigorous promotion of reading for all,the middle school library,as the main place for students to read,is often idle during students’ classes and holidays.However,the lack of public reading space and low quality in the communities around middle schools make it difficult to meet the needs of community residents.As a part of community cultural facilities,the middle school library can improve its utilization rate by opening to the community.However,the existing middle school library did not consider opening to the community at the beginning of planning and design.If it is directly opened to the community,it will inevitably face some problems to be solved urgently.Therefore,the main purpose of this study is to solve the problem of opening up existing middle school libraries to the community from the perspective of architecture.Taking middle school libraries as the main research object,the research methods such as field investigation and analysis,questionnaire investigation and analysis,and environmental behavior analysis are comprehensively used.First of all,through combing the relevant theories of the society and the development process of the middle school library,and summarizing the influence of the concept of the society on the middle school library.Then,taking Xi ’an as an example,six middle school libraries in Xi ’an were selected.Through field investigation and questionnaire,the spatial layout,spatial scale,spatial composition,spatial use and management methods were analyzed.Combined with the comparative analysis of three community libraries in Xi ’an,the problem of opening existing middle school libraries to the community was obtained.Secondly,the behavior and needs of middle school library users under the community-oriented opening are analyzed,and it is concluded that the use time and functional needs of the two groups of people are coupled,and there are also some differences,which provides guidance and basis for the optimization of space composition of middle school libraries in the future.Then,through the analysis of the existing excellent cases of middle school library layout,five kinds of middle school library layout models are summarized and the corresponding design points are put forward,which will provide guidance and basis for the layout optimization of middle school libraries in the future.Finally,according to the above analysis,the author makes an open evaluation of the existing middle school library,and then puts forward the optimization design strategy of the existing middle school library from four aspects: spatial layout,spatial composition,external space and management mode,and takes a typical research school as an example to apply the proposed strategy.The research results mainly include the following four aspects: 1.There are three prominent problems in the opening of existing middle school libraries to the community:first,the existing spatial layout is not suitable for opening to the community;Second,the existing space structure is single,which fails to meet the needs of students and communities;Third,there is a lack of reasonable open management methods.2.Under the community-oriented opening,the two groups of users in middle school libraries have complementary coupling in use time and similar coupling in use function.3.There are five types of middle school library layout patterns that are suitable for opening: combining with campus street boundary,combining with transitional space,connecting horizontal traffic space in series,grouping public functions,and combining with community space.4.The spatial layout of the existing middle school library can be optimized by adjusting and optimizing the campus boundary,replacing the functional space in the school,setting up the open entrance separately and dividing the open area;The spatial composition is optimized from a single mode of collection and reading to a compound direction of "collection and reading+";The external space can be optimized by enhancing the guidance of the entrance,elevation and passage;The management mode is optimized from the traditional manual management to the combination of time,space and intelligent management.The author hopes to provide theoretical basis and reference for the optimization construction of existing middle school libraries opening to the community through this study. |
