Design Study Of Public Art Intervention In Park Micro-renewal

Along with social progress,China’s urban development has gradually shifted from a gradually expanding urbanization construction model to a stock development model,which implies an increase in quality.In this context,people has higher requirements for the development of urban park space,and the traditional renewal model can no longer meet people’s increasingly diversified needs and modern lifestyles.As art for the masses and art for life,public art can play an important role in mitigating the contradiction between traditional parks and the diverse needs of the public by appearing in a more intimate and inclusive form in people’s everyday lives.Therefore,this paper will explore the characteristics of urban park micro-renewal and the rationality and feasibility of public art intervention in urban micro-renewal from the perspective of public art,and try to summarize the meaning and role,strategies and methods of public art intervention in urban park micro-renewal in field research and design practice.Firstly,I analyze the evolution of various influencing factors in the development of urban parks in the new era,as well as the ways of park micro-renewal in the stock development stage and the characteristics of park micro-renewal.Secondly,it argues the rationality and possibility of art interventions in parks in the context of urban micro-renovation,analyses and summarises the bottlenecks in the current development of parks,and attempts to provide a theoretical framework for art interventions in parks in the context of micro-renovation by exploring the functions,roles,forms and characteristics of art interventions in public spaces based on the intrinsic link between art in public spaces and regional characteristics and human needs.Again,through analyzing literature and cases,the types and realization forms of public art in parks are summarized.It is proposed to bring into play the participatory,pluralistic,inclusive and nurturing characteristics of public art to achieve precise interventions based on the knowledge of the park system.The intervention here includes hard aspects such as park space,landscape,and facilities,as well as soft aspects such as quality,place tone,and organization and management.Finally,based on field research and design practice,it is further pointed out that the intervention of public art can not only enhance the attractiveness of the park,but more importantly,in the process,it can stimulate public thinking and imagination,promote interaction and dialogue among different groups,and create a vibrant and shared space.
