Research On The Micro-renewal And Design Strategy Of Public Space In Typical Old Communities In Hangzhou

In the past three decades,China has experienced rapid urbanization and a large number of old urban communities are facing the problems of material aging and functional decline.Affected by the urban planning pattern,the problems of insufficient public space function and environmental degradation in the old communities in Hangzhou have become prominent,resulting in insufficient vitality of the old communities and weakening of neighbor relations,making it difficult to adapt to the current residents ’ pursuit of a higher quality of living environment.Limited space resources force Hangzhou to shift from incremental expansion to endogenous stock optimization.The old communities in Hangzhou are mainly concentrated in the main urban area.They have been built for a long time and have a high residential density.The residents are mainly elderly people.The overall demolition is difficult."Micro-renewal" has become the mainstream way of transformation.Up to now,a batch of old community updates have been completed.This article conducts in-depth research on the public space micro-renewal practices of typical representative old communities in the main urban area of Hangzhou,and analyzes the current public space micro-renewal of old communities in Hangzhou.Highlights and deficiencies,combined with theoretical research,put forward the design principles suitable for the micro-renewal of old communities in Hangzhou,and based on this,proposed a design strategy for the micro-renewal of public spaces in old communities in Hangzhou from two levels of space function elements and environmental elements.This article will review the theory and practice of "micro-renewal" at home and abroad,the status quo of old communities in Hangzhou and the practice of micro-renewal,and discuss the design strategy of public space micro-renewal in Hangzhou old communities under the background of micro-renewal.Comprehensive use of literature review,case studies,field investigations,comparative studies,system analysis and other methods,beginning from the material system of the old community,that is,functional elements and environmental elements,to discuss the micro-renewal strategy of the public space of the old community in the city.
