| Historical and cultural towns are important national historical and cultural heritage, bearing the historical imprint and humanistic colours of regional development, with great archaeological value, tourism value and development potential. However, there are many problems in this social development process, such as commercial homogenisation and ineffective protection of cultural heritage. At present, the protection of historic and cultural towns is mainly focused on the preparation of protection plans and the introduction of some protection methods before construction. The conservation of historic and cultural towns should not only study the process from construction to conservation, but also evaluate the performance of the projects after completion, identify outstanding problems in the conservation process and verify the effectiveness of the conservation work, which is of great significance in promoting the sustainable development of historic and cultural towns. The popularity of the mobile internet has brought about a large amount of evaluation, point and mobile data, which allows us to track the conservation and use of historic and cultural towns on a temporal scale, and analysis platforms such as GIS provide effective analysis tools on a spatial scale.Based on landscape performance theory, the landscape performance indicators of Chengdu’s historic and cultural towns were screened through web data reviews, existing historic and cultural town evaluation systems,Shu cultural characteristics and LAF landscape performance evaluation indicators combined with frequency analysis method, expert analysis method and field research, and the weights of each indicator were calculated using entropy weighting method combined with fuzzy synthesis method,so as to establish Chengdu’s historic and cultural town landscape performance evaluation The system was then applied to three major ancient towns in Chengdu, namely Luodai Ancient Town in Longquanyi District,Huanglongxi Ancient Town in Shuangliu District and Wufengxi Ancient Town in Jintang County,to further summarise and analyse the problems in the sustainable development of Chengdu’s historic and cultural towns and to propose targeted sustainable development strategies;finally,an optimisation strategy and renovation plan were proposed for Wufengxi Ancient Town, which has the lowest overall rating. The main results and conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The construction and application of a landscape performance evaluation system for Chengdu’s historic and cultural townsBased on the performance theory and sustainability theory, the main reference is the LPS landscape performance indicators,as well as internet data reviews, the evaluation system of existing historical and cultural towns and the characteristics of Shu culture, the use of expert scoring method, field research for the selection and revision of indicators,so as to establish the cultural benefits(weight value 0.3248),social benefits(weight value0.2513),environmental benefits(weight value 0.2140),aesthetic benefits(weight value0.0917)and economic benefits(weight value 0.1182)as the criterion layer, which includes20 evaluation index factors, and finally calculates the weights of each index through entropy weighting method combined with fuzzy analysis method,so as to construct a comprehensive evaluation model for the landscape performance of Chengdu’s historic and cultural towns. The above-mentioned evaluation model of Chengdu’s famous historical and cultural towns was used to empirically study the ancient towns of Luodai in Longquanyi District,Huanglongxi in Shuangliu District and Wufengxi in Jintang County, and the results of the landscape performance evaluation of the three towns were: the landscape performance of the three towns was "better",with Luodai(3.7086)Ancient Town > Huanglongxi Ancient Town(3.6430 points)> Wufengxi Ancient Town(3.2953 points).(2)Strategies for the sustainable development of Chengdu’s famous historical and cultural townsBased on the evaluation results and analysis of each ancient town, the advantages and problems in the sustainable development of Chengdu’s famous historical and cultural towns are summarised, and suggestions are made for the sustainable development of Chengdu’s famous historical and cultural towns on five levels:(1)enhancing the humanistic charm of ancient towns by creating a humanistic mood and strengthening the protection of the originality of objective material culture;(2)Activate the social benefits of the ancient town by updating the science education methods with modern technology and adding attractive experience programs;(3)Broaden the economic development of the ancient town by strengthening publicity efforts, increasing the visibility of the ancient town, organizing special cultural exploration activities, promoting the folklore and cultural tourism products of the ancient town and creating a tourism and economic circle of the historic and cultural town;(4)Improve the aesthetics of the ancient town by appropriately increasing the space for staying and coordinating the harmonious development of the interior and exterior of the ancient town;(5)Improving the aesthetic value of the town through water purification and noise reduction.(3)Practice of improving the landscape performance of historical and cultural towns in Chengdu-an example of the ancient town of WufengxiTaking the ancient town of Wufengxi,a historical and cultural town with a relatively low overall landscape performance score,as a case study, the results of the landscape performance evaluation are combined with the current situation of the site to further discover the strengths and weaknesses possessed by the site, and propose optimisation strategies and renovation plans, with a view to providing reference and lessons for the sustainable development of future historical and cultural towns in Chengdu. |
