With the acceleration of the integration of domestic breeding industry, pig breeding is no longer a family-breeding pattern in China.“pork producers” are gradually participating in the large food supply chain.Since 2018,China’s pig breeding pattern has stepped on another stage of in-depth adjustment for the breakout of African Swine Fever(ASF).Meanwhile, the breeding industry accelerates its concentration. As the source of supply chain, pig farmers are the most important stakeholders of the whole industry. Therefore,it is very important to study the willingness of farmers to expand the scale of pig breeding to promote the healthy development of pig breeding industry.Based on the survey data of 137 farmers participating in “leading enterprises+ farmers” pig cooperative breeding in Sichuan Province, this paper first uses OLS and logit model to determine the influencing factors of farmers’ willingness to expand their breeding scale, and then uses PSM to further analyze farmers’ willingness to expand their breeding scale. The result shows that the significant influence on Farmers’ willingness to expand breeding scale contains 8 factors, including age, capital input awareness, loan difficulty,land-loan price,land-loan convenience, labor input, cooperative breeding development and whether the government or other organizations provide help or not.Under the same conditions, the probability that the older farmers’ willingness to expand the scale of pig breeding is lower than that of younger ones;the possibility that the famers’ willingness to expand the scale of pig breeding of those who think pig breeding investment fund is small is larger than those who think large ones;the possibility that the famers’ willingness to expand the scale of pig breeding of those who think fund loan is easy is larger than those who think difficult ones;the possibility that the famers’ willingness to expand the scale of pig breeding of those who think labor input is large is larger than those who think small ones;the probability of farmers with high understanding of cooperative breeding is higher than that of farmers with low understanding.
