Problems And Countermeasures In The Development Of Small And Medium-sized Beef Cattle Farms In Yiyang County

As a big traditional agricultural county,Yiyang county has abundant forage grass and feed resources,which provides good conditions for the development of beef cattle breeding industry.In recent years,with the improvement of people’s living standard,beef cattle breeding industry has become a pillar industry promoting farmers’ income from sideline.At present,Yiyang county beef cattle breeding industry is mainly small and medium-sized beef cattle farms.But in recent years,due to environmental pressure,poor management and other reasons,the annual inventory of beef cattle farms is decreasing.In order to further promote the development of beef cattle breeding industry,this paper conducted a comprehensive investigation on the development status of small and medium-sized beef cattle farms in Yiyang County by field investigation and questionnaire issuance on the basis of reading a large number of domestic and foreign research literature.Problems restricting the development of small and medium-sized beef cattle farms in Yiyang County were found from the aspects of breeding management,supporting facilities,epidemic prevention,development of breeding industry and breeding policy.Grey correlation analysis was used to analyze the relevant factors affecting the development of small and medium-sized beef cattle farms in Yiyang County,and their correlation degree was ranked.On this basis,the corresponding countermeasures are put forward.The research results are as follows:1.Problems in the development of small and medium-sized beef farms in Yiyang County:In terms of breeding management,managers have limited education level and backward breeding methods.In terms of supporting facilities,the site selection of cattle farm is not reasonable,the infrastructure construction of cattle farm is not perfect,and the sewage treatment method of cattle farm is backward.In epidemic prevention,the use of vaccines is not standardized,the use of veterinary drugs is not scientific,and disinfection is not standardized.In terms of the development of the breeding industry,the source of calves is unstable,the way of raising funds for breeding is backward,and the way of selling is backward.In the aspect of breeding policy,the policy promotion is not enough and the planning of forbidden area is not clear.2.The grey correlation analysis results show that the correlation degree between the ten related factors of the development of small and medium-sized beef cattle industry in Yiyang County and the output value of small and medium-sized beef cattle in Yiyang County is 0.50～1.00.According to the degree of correlation,it was divided into three gradients,among which,professional veterinary personnel,rural population,cost of concentrate feed per beef cattle and total grain output were located in the first gradient with the degree of correlation between 0.81 and 1.00.In the second gradient,with a correlation between 0.66 and 0.80,are GDP,urban disposable income,rural disposable income and labor cost per head of cattle.Investment in agriculture,forestry,animal husbandry and fishery and turnover in catering industry are located in the third gradient,with correlation between 0.50 and 0.65.3.Put forward the following countermeasures for the problems existing in the development of small and medium-sized beef farms in Yiyang County:In terms of breeding management,relevant government departments should strengthen the training of breeding management personnel,farmers should be scientific feeding,leading enterprises +cooperatives + farmers breeding model,so as to form a development model integrating breeding,processing and sales;Breeding facilities;Cattle farm should be scientific site selection,improve cattle farm infrastructure,scientific treatment of cattle farm manure;In terms of disease prevention,standardizing the use of vaccines,scientific use of veterinary drugs,scientific disinfection should be done to reduce the occurrence of disease;As for the development of breeding industry,increasing breeding cows and banks should respond positively to national policies and expand sales channels;In terms of breeding policy,the government should strengthen the publicity of breeding subsidies,scientifically divide breeding areas,and facilitate the large-scale development of beef cattle farms.
