| With the development of society,heavy metal pollution has become more and more serious,among which cadmium pollution is a common one.Cadmium in the environment will eventually enter the human body along the food chain,thus causing serious harm to the human body.Traditional Chinese medicine is a splendid heritage left by China’s thousands of years of history and civilization,but it has been criticized all over the world for lack of quality assurance,among which the more common problem is the excessive content of heavy metals.Muskmelon as a cash crop,its fruit is loved as food by people,and the fruit pedicle has medicinal value.This article systematically studied the effects of cadmium on the growth physiology and fruit quality of muskmelon plants by treating muskmelon plants with different concentrations of cadmium and the response of different muskmelon varieties to cadmium under the same concentration.The effect of cadmium on the content of active ingredients in the medicinal part of muskmelon plant medicinal part was explored through content determination and activity analysis of muskmelon pedicle extract.1.The growth and physiological data of muskmelon show that cadmium can inhibit the growth of muskmelon plants and reduce the chlorophyll content,but this inhibitory effect will become insignificant with the growth of muskmelon plants.Cadmium can also induce oxidative stress,which will cause oxidative damage to plants after the cadmium concentration increases.The effect of cadmium on the fruit size and sugar content of muskmelon is not obvious,but high concentration of cadmium significantly reduces the yield of muskmelon fruit.Cadmium inhibits the absorption of nitrogen and phosphorus in the soil by muskmelon plants,but promotes the absorption of potassium.2.Different varieties of muskmelon plants have different responses to cadmium stress,and the cadmium content in each part of the plant is also different.The low cadmium accumulation variety of the seven muskmelon plants in this study is P7,which is 2020CTB019.Although the P7 plant has the lowest cadmium content in various parts,the size and quality of the muskmelon fruit are not optimal.Comprehensive consideration should be given to the selection of muskmelon varieties for actual production.For muskmelon varieties with high cadmium accumulation,we can further explore its role in the remediation of cadmium pollution.3.Studies have found that low concentrations of cadmium increase the anti-tumor activity of muskmelon pedicles,and have a certain selectivity to normal cells and Hela cells.High concentrations of cadmium will inhibit the anti-tumor activity of muskmelon pedicles.Low concentration of cadmium reduces the content of flavonoids in muskmelon pedicle,while high concentration of cadmium can promote the synthesis of muskmelon pedicle polyphenols,flavonoids,saponins and polysaccharides to a certain extent.4.The results of gene expression showed that cadmium significantly affected the gene expression of muskmelon plants,among which genes related to antioxidant effects were up-regulated,such as the synthesis of anthocyanins,glutathione and flavonoids,and genes related to photosynthesis were down-regulated,the expression of the related genes associated with MAPK and plant hormone signal transduction pathway were upregulated.In summary,different varieties of muskmelon plants respond differently to cadmium stress.Cadmium inhibits the growth of muskmelon plants.Low concentrations of cadmium can increase the anti-tumor activity of muskmelon pedicles;high concentrations of cadmium will affect the antioxidant system of muskmelon plants,causes serious damage,reduces the yield of muskmelon fruit and inhibits the anti-tumor activity of the muskmelon pedicle.Cadmium promotes the synthesis of polyphenols,flavonoids,saponins and polysaccharides in guarana.The effect of cadmium on gene expression of muskmelon plants is the root cause of the above-mentioned changes. |
