The Demand Of Herdsmen For Socialized Veterinary Service And Its Influencing Factors

In the modernization process of pastoral areas,faced with the shortage of seasonal labor force,the lack of veterinary medicine and livestock products in the process of food safety guarantee and other development problems,the socialized veterinary service in pastoral areas has become an indispensable guarantee system in modern livestock production.Veterinary socialized service organizations provide paid services to herdsmen in the form of contracts.The main services include: Socialization service of medicine bath,disinfection of facilities,veterinary diagnosis and treatment,veterinary surgery,veterinary epidemic prevention,laboratory testing,injection and drug administration,improved breeding and veterinary technical training,etc.Except laboratory testing services and veterinary technical training services provided at designated locations,other services can be provided at grazing sites.Supply comes from demand,and there would be no establishment and development of veterinary socialized service in pastoral areas without the demand of herders.This study aims to study the problems existing in the supply section from the demand level of herders.Based on the influencing factors of demand,the thesis puts forward some practical countermeasures and suggestions.Firstly,this thesis divides the needs of pastoral households into four grades: no need,general no need,comparative need and very need,and assigns values.The scores were calculated and sorted according to the requirements of the herders for various veterinary social services according to the assignment rules.The scores from high to low were as follows: Socialization service of veterinary injection and medicine,socialization service of medicine bath,socialization service of veterinary diagnosis and treatment,socialization service of veterinary surgery,socialization service of veterinary improved breeding,socialization service of veterinary technical training,socialization service of veterinary epidemic prevention,socialization service of facility disinfection and socialization service of laboratory testing;Furthermore,the demand for veterinary socialized service was taken as the explained variable,and the characteristics of individual characteristics,family characteristics and the characteristics of obtaining veterinary socialized service were taken as the explained variables.Through the multivariate ordered Probit model,the key factors affecting the demand for veterinary socialized service were found.The results showed that the factors that had a significant impact on the demand for veterinary socialized service were age of household head,health status,experience in raising livestock,education level,number of animal husbandry labor force,annual income level,whether there was a veterinarian at home and satisfaction degree of veterinary socialized service.In the last part,based on the empirical results and the reality,the conclusion is elaborated from the perspective of demand and supply,and the feasible development suggestions based on the demand of pastoral households are put forward for the existing problems.
