| In this study,960 clinical cases of dogs in 9 veterinary hospitals in Yinchuan area were investigated and counted from January 2022 to December 2022,and the incidence of canine skin diseases and pruritic skin diseases in Yinchuan area,as well as the causes,onset time,age of onset and breed type,and the adverse effects of the antipruritic drug prednisolone and olanzapine maleate were analyzed.Through the analysis,the incidence pattern and epidemiological characteristics of common pruritic skin diseases in dogs in the Yinchuan area were summarized,as well as the recommendations on the use of anti-itch drugs.The clinical treatment process of four typical canine pruritic skin disease cases was also analyzed to summarize the canine pruritic skin disease prevention and treatment strategies with regional guidance for the Yinchuan area.The findings revealed that the incidence of canine skin diseases accounted for 29.7%of the total morbidity and pruritic skin diseases accounted for 77.1%of the total morbidity of canine skin diseases.Of the major causes of pruritic skin diseases in dogs,parasitic infections were the most common cause,followed by microbial infections,while the least prevalent was food allergy pruritus.The seasonal epidemiological characteristics of pruritic skin disease in dogs were the same as those of other canine skin diseases,with the highest incidence from May to September and the lowest incidence in December,January and February;of the 220 dogs with pruritic skin disease,the male to female ratio was 1.39:1;in terms of age distribution,the incidence of pruritic skin disease was greatest in dogs less than 1 week of age and relatively low in dogs over 5 years of age;among the 27 breeds,the Among the 27 breeds,the top three incidences were Golden Retrievers,Poodles and Labradors;the sites of occurrence were mainly on the limbs,ears and face,followed by the tail.Among the 220 cases of pruritic skin disease in dogs,four typical clinical cases were collected(including one case of pruritus caused by atopic dermatitis in dogs,one case of pruritus caused by mange mite infection in dogs,one case of pruritus caused by impetigo in dogs,and one case of pruritus caused by food allergy in dogs),and the clinical procedures of each case were recorded in detail to analyse the treatment process.This study was conducted to understand the occurrence of pruritic skin diseases in dogs in Yinchuan through the investigation and clinical case analysis of pruritic skin diseases in Yinchuan,and also to summarize systematic and effective prevention and treatment strategies through the analysis of specific clinical cases to provide a theoretical basis for the diagnosis and treatment of pruritic skin diseases in dogs in Yinchuan. |
