| This article conducts scientific analysis,and systematic review,Hu sheep is very popular in meat sheep breeding in Maigaiti County because of its strong fertility and good performance of multiple births.This paper conducts on-site research,scientific analysis and systematic sorting to truly and effectively examine the current development status of large-scale Hu sheep farming and farmers’raising in Maigaiti County,analyzes the problems in Hu sheep farming in Maigaiti County,and puts forward corresponding suggestions.In addition,by measuring quantitative traits such as body weight and body size of Hu sheep,correlation analysis was conducted to evaluate the degree of correlation between body weight and body size of Hu sheep and its impact on other quantitative traits.Compare and evaluate the slaughter performance and meat quality of Hu sheep and local meat sheep breeds.The aim is to promote the breeding of Hu Sheep in Maigaiti County,provide practical experience and scientific basis for guiding Hu Sheep breeding,and further provide theoretical and data support for building a high-quality Hu Sheep brand in Maigaiti County.The following research results were obtained:(1)Investigation on lambing performance and breeding status of Hu Sheep in Maigaiti County:This study selected Maiteng Sheep Farm as the main survey object and found that the proportion of Hu sheep producing multiple lambs is relatively high,with 13%producing single lambs and 87%producing double lambs or more.The birth weight of a single lamb was significantly higher than that of three lambs and four lambs(P<0.05).As the age increases,the relative growth of single lambs is significantly lower than that of double lambs,three lambs,and four lambs at the age of one month(P<0.05);At the age of 4 months,the relative growth of the four lambs significantly increased(P<0.05),indicating that individuals with lighter body weight have greater growth intensity.Through the investigation of Hu Sheep breeding in Maigaiti County,it was found that Maiteng Sheep Farm can play a certain advantage in scientific breeding,reasonable feed allocation,and improved epidemic prevention system.However,there are still problems in local farmers’Hu Sheep breeding,such as small scale of breeding,low intensification,single feed ratio,improper epidemic prevention measures,poor breeding environment,and outdated breeding methods,which need further improvement,to better utilize the efficient breeding of Hu sheep in Maigaiti County and improve the economic benefits of farmers.(2)Correlation analysis between body size traits and body weight of Hu sheep:In order to study the correlation and linear regression relationship between body weight and body size traits of Hu sheep,and clarify the direct and indirect effects of body size on body weight.Sixty-two 6-month-old Hu sheep were selected for the experiment,and their body weight and body size related indicators were measured.A regression equation was established between the body size traits and body weight of 6-month-old Hu sheep using multiple regression method y=0.407+0.651x2+0.407x3+1.908x4-88.489 for male sheep,y=0.561x1+0.366x2+0.291x5+0.534x6-70.727 for female sheep.The results showed that the body weight and body size traits of male sheep were significantly higher than those of female sheep,and the body size indicators selected in the regression models of male and female sheep were different,but most of them included body length and chest circumference.Therefore,in the actual production of Hu sheep,selecting6-month-old male and female sheep based on weight traits should mainly refer to chest circumference and body length,and also refer to corresponding regression models to achieve better results.(3)Comparison of slaughtering performance and meat quality between Hu Sheep and local meat sheep varieties in Southern Xinjiang:Hu Sheep,Duolang Sheep,and Karakul Sheep were selected as experimental subjects to analyze and compare their slaughter performance.In addition,muscle samples from shoulder,back,and gluteus muscles were taken separately,and the edible quality and nutritional quality of mutton from different breeds and parts were analyzed using two factor ANOVA.The results showed that the carcass weight,slaughter rate,and eye muscle area of Hu sheep were significantly higher than those of Karakul sheep(P<0.05).In terms of eating quality,from the analysis of different breeds,it was found that the cooked meat rate of Duolang sheep was the highest,and the tenderness of Karakul sheep was the best.From the muscle color,Hu sheep was bright,with the brightness of the back muscle of Hu sheep significantly higher than that of Karakul sheep(P<0.05).Duolang sheep had a red meat color,and the redness of its back muscle was significantly higher than that of Karakul sheep(P<0.05).Therefore,in terms of appearance,Duolang Sheep and Hu Sheep are more likely to arouse consumers’purchasing desire.The comparison between different parts found that the cooked meat rate of the dorsal muscle was higher than that of the gluteus muscle(P<0.05),and the flesh quality of the dorsal muscle was the most tender.The flesh color of the dorsal and shoulder muscles was brighter and more ruddy than that of the gluteus muscle.From the perspective of nutritional quality,the protein content of Duolang sheep was significantly higher than that of Hu sheep and Karakul sheep(P<0.05),and the fat content of Hu sheep’s shoulder muscle was significantly lower than the other two varieties(P<0.05)and higher water content.Based on the above research results,it is indicated that Hu sheep has good meat production performance,bright meat color,and low fat content,which has good production and promotion value. |
