Research On High Quality Development Of Long Staple Cotton Production In Awati County

Long staple cotton is the characteristic cash crop of Awati County.Its fiber is long,thin and high in strength.It is a high-quality raw material for manufacturing high-quality textiles.In recent years,the country has repeatedly emphasized high-quality development.The new situation of domestic and international development and the new changes in supply and demand have increasingly demanded that agriculture achieve green development,ensure product quality,and improve comprehensive benefits.Taking the path of highquality development has become a consensus in agricultural development.As far as Awati County,the "hometown of long staple cotton" is concerned,it has relatively superior physical geography environment and relatively perfect social and economic conditions,laying a solid foundation for high-quality development of long staple cotton production.However,in recent years,the production cost of long staple cotton in Awati County has been increasing year by year,the purchase price has fluctuated significantly,farmland degradation and non-point source pollution are severe,and the slow progress of machine picking cotton has seriously affected the high-quality development of long staple cotton production.Therefore,exploring the high-quality development status of long staple cotton production,analyzing the factors that contribute to the high-quality development of long staple cotton production,and improving the high-quality development level of long staple cotton production in Awati County have a positive effect on promoting the development of long staple cotton and increasing farmers’ income.This study conducted on-site research and visits to understand the geographical advantages and current development status of long staple cotton production.Based on research data,an indicator system was constructed from 6 criteria layers,including technology investment level,cost investment,and supply safety.The comprehensive evaluation method was used to analyze the high-quality development level of long staple cotton production,And further explored the behavior of farmers in implementing high-quality production,analyzed the impact of education level,planting scale,and farmers’ awareness on the high-quality production behavior of farmers,and finally proposed targeted countermeasures and suggestions for the main problems in the high-quality development of long staple cotton production.The main conclusions of this article are as follows:(1)The overall development status of long staple cotton production is improving,but the planting area is affected by the purchase price and fluctuates greatly;Long staple cotton products have low added value;High cost investment and low level of green production.(2)The overall development level of highquality production of long staple cotton shows a tortuous upward trend,with the highest development level of long staple cotton production quality in 2021.(3)The level of technological investment has the greatest impact.(4)Among the specific indicators,the mechanical picking rate has the greatest contribution to the level of technological investment,the labor cost has the greatest impact on cost investment,the insurance premium has the greatest impact on supply safety,the by-product output value has the greatest contribution to output efficiency,and the average purchase price of seed cotton has the greatest contribution to the level of marketization.(5)In terms of influencing the high-quality production behavior of farmers,their education level,planting scale,and their perception of high-quality production have significant positive effects,with education level having a more significant impact.(6)For the development of long staple cotton production,this article proposes suggestions such as strengthening technical training,popularizing mechanical equipment,and expanding marketing channels.
