Dairy farming retail farmers are an important part of China’s dairy industry and occupy an important position in the development of dairy industry. With the development of large-scale dairy farming in China, the living space of individual dairy farmers has been affected to a certain extent; In addition, the source of raw milk of dairy enterprises has gradually shifted to large-scale farms, and the traditional milk sales channels of dairy farming retail farmers have been further squeezed, and the livelihood problems of dairy farming retail farmers have become increasingly prominent. In addition, due to changes in the external environment, the breeding mode of dairy farming retail farmers has gradually diverged, and it is mainly divided into three types: traditional breeding, calf breeding and breeding breeding. In this context, this thesis intends to study the livelihood of dairy farming retail households, and use micro sample data to analyze the breeding income, household disposable income and total household living expenditure of dairy farming retail households and their influencing factors,so as to explore the livelihood status of dairy farming retail households.Firstly, dairy farming income is the main component of disposable income of dairy farming retail households, and this thesis discusses the breeding income of dairy farming retail households.Based on the three types of breeding mode,on the basis of measuring the income of single dairy cow breeding, and according to the scale of adult dairy cows, the total breeding income of individual dairy farming households was analyzed.Secondly, from the perspective of household disposable income and total household living expenditure, the livelihood of individual dairy farming households is explored, including two aspects: first, based on the perspective of three types of breeding models, the relationship between disposable income of individual dairy farming households and total household living expenditure under various breeding modes is analyzed, and the results show that none of the individual dairy farming households under the three types of farming models show obvious livelihood difficulties;Second, based on the high, medium and low household disposable income, the sample households were classified into categories, and the difference between household income and expenditure and the total household living expenditure of the sample households with different income structures were further measured and analyzed, and it was found that the sample households in the low-income group had obvious livelihood problems, and the household disposable income could not effectively guarantee their daily living expenses.Thirdly,in view of the possible causes of the livelihood problems of dairy farming retail households, the OLS model is used to analyze the influencing factors of household disposable income and total household living expenditure of dairy farming retail households, and the results show that on the one hand, the household disposable income of dairy farming retail households is mainly affected by their age, dairy farming mode, breeding quantity, professional training, breeding experience, planting area, and part-time business behavior. On the other hand, the total household living expenses of dairy farming retail households are mainly affected by their family health level, whether there are students at home, and the pressure of personal expenses.Based on the above findings, this thesis puts forward the following countermeasures and suggestions: first, guide individual dairy farming households to carry out appropriate breeding models according to local conditions, second, pay attention to low-income dairy farming retail households, third, guide and help dairy farming retail households to increase household income, and fourth, effectively reduce the pressure of living expenses of dairy farming retail households.
