| In response to the arrival of the era of agricultural intelligence, agricultural universities in China have begun to set up the undergraduate major of "smart agriculture",and explore the training path of informationized agricultural talents. The primary problem faced by the smart agriculture major in the early stage of establishment is how to clarify the training objectives of smart agriculture undergraduates, modify the professional talent training program, improve the quality of talent training, and achieve the smooth transformation from traditional agricultural talents to information agricultural talents. The formulation of the goal of talent cultivation is closely related to the analysis of the key competencies of undergraduates majoring in smart agriculture; The modification of talent training program and the improvement of talent training quality need to be based on the current situation of key competencies cultivation of undergraduate students majoring in smart agriculture. This study constructs a key competencies framework for undergraduates majoring in smart agriculture, and then investigates the talent cultivation of undergraduates majoring in smart agriculture, and puts forward corresponding suggestions for talent cultivation of undergraduates majoring in smart agriculture. This study has the dual significance of theoretical and practical aspects, and is expected to promote the theoretical discussion of the cultivation of smart agricultural professionals in the field of key competencies, and to some extent,it is also expected to help promote the practice of cultivating talents for undergraduate students of smart agriculture majors in universities.Based on the analysis of relevant literature materials and text materials on the cultivation of smart agriculture majors in domestic and foreign universities, this study establishes the theoretical framework of the key competencies of smart agriculture majors undergraduates by using the grounded theory research path.On this basis,Huazhong Agricultural University was used as a case study to investigate the current situation of undergraduate training in smart agriculture and related problems using questionnaire method and interview method. The key competency framework of undergraduates majoring in smart agriculture is composed of three dimensions: character, knowledge and ability. The character dimension includes the professional identity of smart agriculture, understanding of agriculture, love of agriculture and a sense of service to agriculture; The knowledge dimension includes knowledge of computer, knowledge of agricultural production, knowledge of information agricultural production management, knowledge of agricultural mechanization, knowledge of intelligent agricultural industry management; The ability dimension includes the innovative thinking and problem-solving ability of agricultural informatization, the organizational management and practical ability, and the self-management and learning ability of agronomists. The study found that the key competencies scores of the character dimension and ability dimension of the undergraduates majoring in smart agriculture were above the qualified level, while some elements of the knowledge dimension scored below the passing level, namely knowledge of agricultural production, knowledge of agricultural mechanization, and knowledge of management of smart agricultural industry. This study found that participation in practical activities can significantly improve the scores of smart agriculture major undergraduates in three dimensions of key competencies cultivation.Based on the framework of the key competency of undergraduates in smart agriculture and combined with the talent training situation, this paper puts forward corresponding suggestions for the cultivation of the key competencies of undergraduates in smart agriculture: in the dimension of character, universities need to pay attention to professional identity education in the early stage, and maintain the cultivation of agriculture-loving consciousness in the later stage. In the knowledge dimension, universities need to establish a perfect curriculum system and ensure the reasonable implementation of curriculum; In the ability dimension, universities need to provide a platform for scientific research activities and stimulate students’ subjective initiative. |
