| Objective: In this study,we observed the therapeutic effects of Kunping Tang on menopausal syndrome(MS)of liver-kidney yin deficiency, evaluated the clinical efficacy of Kunping Tang through various indicators such as scales and hormone levels, further analyzed the characteristics and mechanism of action of the Kunping Tang formula, and explored the application of the theory of "the same origin of ethyl and decyl" in menopausal syndrome of liver-kidney yin deficiency to provide a strong clinical scientific basis for the treatment of MS with Chinese medicine. Methods: Sixty patients aged 45-55 years with menopausal syndrome who attended the gynaecological wards and outpatient clinics of the Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine for treatment from June 2020 to December 2021 and whose clinical evidence classification belonged to the liver-kidney yin deficiency type were collected. The patients were divided into 30 cases each in the treatment group(Chinese medicine Kunping Tang)and the control group(Chinese medicine Kuntai capsule)according to the chronological order of collection, and both groups were treated continuously for 8 weeks.Changes in TCM syndrome score,Kupperman score,HAMA score, serum follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),luteinizing hormone(LH)and estradiol(E2)levels were observed before and after treatment in 60 patients. The results were analysed and processed using statistical methods to assess the overall efficacy. Results: 1.The age, duration of illness, degree of illness, total TCM syndrome score,Kupperman score,HAMA score before treatment and FSH,LH and E2 levels before treatment were compared between the two groups, and the results showed no statistically significant differences(P > 0.05),and the two groups were comparable.2.The total TCM evidence score,Kupperman score and HAMA score of the two groups of patients before and after treatment were compared within the groups respectively, and the results showed statistically significant differences(P < 0.01).The results showed statistically significant differences(P < 0.05)when comparing the two groups of patients between groups after treatment.P < 0.01),indicating that both Kunping Tang and Kuntai Capsules could effectively improve the clinical symptoms of MS with liver and kidney yin deficiency, and Kunping Tang was more effective than Kuntai Capsules, especially in relieving patients’ anxiety state.3.Intra-group comparison of serum FSH,LH and E2 levels of the two groups before and after treatment showed statistically significant differences(P< 0.01),while inter-group comparison of the two groups after treatment showed no statistical difference(P > 0.05);indicating that both Kunping Tang and Kuntai Capsules can effectively improve serum FSH,LH and E2 levels, and both have comparable effects.4.The total efficacy rate of the Chinese medicine symptoms after treatment was 96.55%(treatment group)and 75.86%(control group)in the two groups respectively, comparing(P < 0.05),the treatment group was better than the control group, indicating that the Chinese medicine symptoms efficacy of Kunping Tang was more significant compared with Kuntai Capsule.5.The total effective rate of clinical efficacy after treatment was93.10%(treatment group)and 72.41%(control group)in the two groups respectively, and the comparison between the two groups(P < 0.05)was better in the treatment group than the control group, indicating that the clinical efficacy of Kunping Tang was more significant compared with Kuntai Capsule.6.No adverse reactions and allergic reactions were observed during the treatment period in both groups. Conclusion: Based on the theory of "the same origin of ethyl and decyl",the liver and kidney are harmonized, nourishing water and connoting wood,Kunping Tang is effective in treating MS with liver and kidney yin deficiency, which not only improves many clinical symptoms during the perimenopausal period, but also has a positive effect on hormone levels, thus improving the quality of life of patients during the perimenopausal period.Kunping Tang has a good safety profile in the treatment of liver-kidney yin deficiency type of menopausal syndrome, which provides a new idea for clinical treatment and is worth promoting. |
