Object:To understand the main risk factors for thyroid cancer(TC)prevalence in Xinjiang Corps, and to further investigate the effect of the interaction between age and each influencing factor on the risk of TC.Methods:A case-control study was conducted to collect new TC patients who were hospitalized in Xinjiang Corps Regional Hospital from January 2019 to May 2021.Controls were matched by age±3years,sex,admission time, and region. The survey included general demographic characteristics of the study subjects, physical reproductive history of women, history of previous diseases and family history of cancer, lifestyle, diet and psychological conditions.SPSS 25.0 statistical software was applied for statistical analysis. The t-test and 2-test were used to analyze the basic situation of the two groups of study subjects.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the relationship between influencing factors and TC.Stratified analysis was performed to assess the main risk factors for the prevalence of TC in men and women. The interaction between TC influencing factors was analyzed by multiplicative interaction between the main risk factors selected by multivariate logistic regression analysis and age, respectively. Results:A total of 429 new TC patients and 475 controls were collected.Univariate analysis revealed that body mass index(BMI),history of thyroid disease, history of hypertension, family history of cancer, smoking, staying up late, physical activity, history of thyroid examination, vegetables and fruits, fries, attitude to life,long-term adverse emotions, number of female pregnancies, number of female miscarriages, and female contraceptive use were associated with TC risk(all P<0.05).Multivariate analysis showed that BMI(24kg/m~2~27.99kg/m~2:OR:4.024,95%CI:1.220~13.269;≥28kg/m~2:OR:4.704,95%CI:1.377~16.063),history of thyroid disease(OR:3.695,95%CI:2.568~5.315),history of hypertension(OR:1.547,95%CI:1.091~2.194),history of thyroid examination(OR:1.403,95%CI:1.039~1.894)consumption of fried foods(≥4 days per month:OR:3.085,95%CI:1.453~6.550)and long-term adverse emotions(OR:1.791,95%CI:1.241~2.585)increased the risk of TC,smoking(OR:0.458,95%CI:0.289~0.724),physical activity(1~2 times per week:OR:0.681,95%CI:0.474~0.997)and consumption of vegetables and fruits(OR:0.337,95%CI:0.132~0.860)decreased the risk of TC.Stratified analysis showed that a history of thyroid disease(OR:3.063,95%CI:1.471~6.376),hypertension(OR:2.222,95%CI:1.240~3.983),and fried foods(≥4 days per month:OR:3.656,95%CI:1.309~10.208)increased the risk of TC in men,and smoking(OR:0.471,95%CI:0.273~0.813)decreased the risk of TC in men.BMI(18.5kg/m~2~23.99 kg/m~2:OR:4.314,95%CI:1.043~17.850;24 kg/m~2~27.99kg/m~2:OR:4.563,95%CI:1.097~18.980;≥28kg/m~2:OR:7.318,95%CI:1.672~32.032),history of thyroid disease(OR:3.752,95%CI:2.471~5.697),long-term adverse emotions(OR:1.827,95%CI:1.205~2.771)and number of miscarriages(history of one abortion:OR:1.716,95%CI:1.002~2.940;history of two miscarriages:OR:2.345,95%CI:1.147~4.794)increased the risk of TC in women, and consumption of vegetables and fruits(OR:0.088,95%CI:0.011~0.714)decreased the risk of TC in women.Interaction analysis revealed that there were multiplicative interactions between age and BMI,age and history of thyroid disease, age and history of hypertension, and age and long-term adverse mood(all P<0.05).Conclusion:BMI,history of thyroid disease, history of hypertension,thyroid-related tests, consumption of fries and long-term adverse emotions were risk factors for TC in Xinjiang Corps, while smoking, physical activity and consumption of vegetables and fruits had some protective effects on TC.History of thyroid disease, history of hypertension, and consumption of fried foods were risk factors for TC in men, while smoking had a certain protective effect on TC in men;BMI,history of thyroid disease,long-term adverse emotions, and number of miscarriages were risk factors for TC in women, and consumption of vegetables and fruits was a protective factor for TC in women. In addition, there are multiplicative interactions between age and BMI,history of thyroid disease, history of hypertension, and long-term adverse emotions, but the specific mechanisms of action among them still need further study.
