| BackgroundThe COVID-19 epidemic happened suddenly,has brought China’s public health system to a huge test,emergency personnel of CDC as the main force and important component of dealing with public health emergencies,directly bear the public health emergency’s early warning,judgment and emergency response and so on,their emergency work ability is directly related to the result of emergency response and the emergency response capacity of CDC.Study the current situation of emergency work ability of emergency personnel in country-level CDC in Shandong Province,explore the influencing factors,having a great importance for improving emergency work ability.ObjectiveStudy the current situation of emergency work ability of emergency personnel,explore factors that include Socio-demographic characteristics,economic situation,health status,lifestyle,work situation,burnout situation,social support situation that may affect emergency work ability,and then make suggestions for improving their emergency work ability.MethodsUsing a stratified random sampling method,employees from 87 county-level CDC in 8 prefectural cities in Shandong Province were selected as the research subjects in August 2022,a total of 5216 valid questionnaires were collected.3632 emergency personnel were selected as the research subjects.A self-designed questionnaire was used,including socio-demographic characteristics,economic situation,health status,lifestyle,work situation,research tools included public health emergency work ability questionnaire(PHEWAQ),Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey(Chinese version,MBI-GS),Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS).Firstly,descriptive analysis was used to analyze the general situation of emergency personnel that involved Socio-demographic characteristics,economic situation,health status,lifestyle,work situation,job burnout situation,social support situation.Secondly,univariate analysis(independent sample t test and variance analysis)was used to compare the emergency work ability of different groups.Then multiple linear regression was used to explore the influencing factors of emergency work ability.Data were analyzed by using SPSS25.0.ResultsThe results showed that the emergency work ability score of emergency personnel in country-level CDC was 52.12±8.591(Over score was 20~77).Multi-factor analysis showed that major,department,working year,personality type,quality of sleep,job satisfaction,and social support were the positive predictors of emergency work ability.Gender,professional title,chronic diseases,participated in emergency response,conducted in risk assessment,job burnout were the reverse predictors of emergency work ability.Compared with major in preventive medicine,business department,0~10 working years,introverted,poor sleep quality,job dissatisfaction,lower social support of emergency personnel,the score of emergency work ability of major in laboratory(β=1.892,P<0.001),other medical specialties(β=1.161,P=0.001),other specialties(β=1.234,P=0.013),other department(β=2.790,P=0.013),11~20 working years(β=1.415,P=0.005),21~30 working years(β=3.083,P<0.001),31working years~(β=2.836,P=0.004),ambivert(β=1.047,P=0.001),extroverted(β=1.251,P=0.002),good sleep quality(β=1.087,P=0.010),job satisfaction(β=1.947,P<0.001),higher social support(β=2.196,P=0.003)were higher.Compared with men,non-professional title,not suffering from chronic diseases,participated in emergency response,conducted in risk assessment,having no job burnout,the score of emergency work ability of women(β=-1.726,P<0.001),deputy senior and above(β=1.755,P=0.006),suffering from diseases(β=-0.933,P=0.004),not participated in emergency response(β=-0.936,P=0.043),not conducted in risk assessment(β=-1.157,P<0.001),mild and moderate burnout(β=2.064,P<0.001),severe burnout(β=-3.685,P<0.001)were lower.Conclusions and suggestionsThere is much room for improvement in the emergency work ability of emergency personnel in country-level CDC.The following suggestions are made:(1)Focus on the impact of socialdemographic characteristics;(2)Pay more attention to the health status and sleep quality;(3)Improve work satisfaction,conduct emergency response training and risk assessment;(4)To alleviate job burnout on emergency personnel;(5)Strengthen social support. |
