| Objective:This study was conducted to observe the clinical efficacy and differences in the treatment of allergic rhinitis in patients with lung qi deficiency cold type by applying three-fu umbilical moxibustion and conventional acupuncture respectively,in order to develop new ideas and methods for the clinical treatment of this disease.Methods:Sixty-six patients with allergic rhinitis of lung qi deficiency cold type who met the inclusion criteria were recruited between July 6,2022 and July 25,2022(informed consent signed and enrolled no later than July 25,2022)and randomly divided into a treatment group(three-fu umbilical moxibustion group)and a control group(conventional acupuncture group)with 33 patients in each group.Interventions were performed from July 6,2022 to September 3,2022 using three-fu umbilical moxibustion therapy and conventional acupuncture in both groups,and the TNSS score,TNNSS score,RQLQ score,lung qi deficiency cold symptom score and total serum IgE content before and after treatment(at the end of the 4th course of treatment),and follow-up period(3 months after the end of treatment)were recorded for each patient.The SPSS 25.0 software was used to statistically analyze the obtained data and compare the differences in efficacy between the two groups.Results:1.TNSS score:In intra-group comparison,the total score and each component score of the two groups at two nodes after treatment and follow-up period were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05).In int er-group comparison,there was a statistically significant difference bet ween the two groups in terms of nasal congestion and runny nose scores after treatment(P<0.05),and in terms of total score and nasal congestion and runny nose scores during the follow-up period(P<0.05).2.TNNSS score:For intra-group comparison,the total scores of both groups at both post-treatment and follow-up nodes were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05).For inter-group comparison,there was no statistically significant difference between the total scores of both groups at post-treatment and follow-up periods(P>0.05).3.RQLQ score:In intra-group comparison,the total scores of both groups at both nodes after treatment and follow-up period were lower than before treatment(P<0.05).In inter-group comparison,the total scores of both groups after treatment and follow-upperiod were statistically significant(P<0.05).4.Lung qi deficiency cold symptorm scale score:Comparing within groups,the total score and each component score of the treatment group at two nodes after treatment and at the follow-up period were lower than before treatment(P<0.05),and the control group had statistical significance(P<0.05)except for the comparis on of spontaneous sweating scores after treatment,which was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Comparing between groups,there was a statistically significant difference(P<0.05)in the fear of wind and cold scores between the two groups after treatment and in the fear of wind and cold scores between the two groups during the follow-up period(P<0.05).5.Serum total Ig E content:The serum total IgE content in both groups decreased significantly after treatment(P<0.05),and the difference between groups was not significant(P>0.05).6.Clinical efficacy:The total effective rate of treatment was 93.33%and 79.31%in the treatment group and the control group,respectively,and the clinical efficacy of the treatment group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The three-fu umbilical moxibustion therapy can significantly improve the nasal symptoms,rhinitis concomitant symptoms and symptoms related to lung qi deficiency cold syndrome in patients with allergic rhinitis,significantly improve their quality of life,reduce the serum total IgE level,and have better efficacy than conventional acupuncture in improving nasal congestion,runny nose,fear of wind and cold symptoms and improving quality of life,and the long-term efficacy of three-fu umbilical moxibustion method is better. |
