| Objective: To explore the clinical efficacy,safety,and improvement of patients’ quality of life in the treatment of acne vulgaris(spleen stomach dampness heat type)with modified Gegen Qinlian decoction from a clinical level.Methods: All the patients in this trial were selected from the dermatology of Weifang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital.The patients with spleen stomach damp heat type acne who met the conditions of this study were randomly divided into two groups,39 cases in each group.The patients in the treatment group took orally the commonly used acne treatment prescription plus Gegen Qinlian Decoction,combined with adapalene gel for external use;The patients in the control group took Yankening pills and adapalene gel for external use.The treatment period is 8 weeks.According to the scoring criteria,the patient’s skin lesions and traditional Chinese medicine symptoms are scored before and after treatment,and the treatment effects of the two groups are evaluated through changes in scores;Evaluate the improvement of quality of life before and after treatment in two groups of patients from three aspects: social and emotional function,and self perception;Monitor and record the adverse reactions and abnormal safety indicators before and after treatment of two groups of patients during medication,and evaluate the safety of this study;After one month of treatment,telephone follow-up was conducted on the two groups of patients who had recovered and showed signs of recurrence.If they met the diagnostic criteria of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine,they were considered to have relapsed.Result: The total effective rate of the treatment group was 92.2%,with 7 cases fully recovered,16 cases significantly improved,13 cases effective,and 3 cases ineffective;The total effective rate of the control group was 74.4%,with 2 cases fully recovered,12 cases significantly improved,15 cases effective,and 10 cases ineffective.The effective rate of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Clinical efficacy: After treatment,the skin lesions and traditional Chinese medicine syndromes of both groups of patients improved,and the treatment group had better efficacy than the control group(P<0.05).Quality of life score: After treatment,the quality of life scores of both groups of patients improved,and the treatment group was better than the control group(P<0.05).Safety indicators and recurrence rate: 3 patients in the treatment group and 2 patients in the control group experienced discomfort of cold bloating in the stomach after eating cold food;After treatment,there was no abnormality in patient safety evaluation indicators in both groups;After one month of treatment,the recurrence rate was followed up.There was no recurrence in the treatment group,while there was one recurrence in the control group.Since long-term follow-up evaluation of the efficacy was not conducted,statistical analysis of the follow-up data was not conducted.Conclusion: Modified Gegen Qinlian Decoction has a definite clinical efficacy and high safety in improving skin lesions and traditional Chinese medicine symptoms in patients with spleen and stomach dampness heat type acne,and can effectively improve the quality of life of patients. |
