Objective: Cervical spondylosis affects health, quality of life and places an economic burden on individuals and society. The experts consensus on the classification, diagnosis and nonsurgical treatment of cervical spondylisis(2018)states that non-surgical treatment is the preferred and basic treatment for cervical cervical spondylosis, and manipulative therapy targeting the spine is one of the non-surgical treatment methods.Pulsation therapy is a chiropractic-based treatment,a treatment that uses instruments to apply mechanical force to the spine in order to release muscles and restore order to the small joints of the spine. This study aims to investigate the effect of pulsation therapy combined with conventional cervical spine treatment on the improvement of pain, function and quality of life of patients with neck type of cervical spondylosis, using visual analog scales(VAS),Neck Disability Index(NDI),Range of Motion(ROM),the craniovertebral angle and Short Form-12(SF-12)as observation indexes to investigate whether it has an effect on the function of the cervical spine of patients, whether it can improve the rehabilitation efficacy and its related mechanisms, with a view to providing a scientific and reasonable treatment plan for patients with cervical spondylosis. The aim is to provide a scientific and reasonable treatment plan for patients with cervical spondylosis and to provide new clinical references. Methods: Forty patients with neck type of cervical spondylosis who met the inclusion criteria were treated for four weeks. The patients were divided into a pulsation therapy group and a conventional treatment group using the random number table method. The pulsation therapy was performed on top of the conventional treatment. The conventional treatment consisted mainly of physiological factor therapy, massage therapy and muscle stretching training.Cervical joint range of motion,VAS,NDI,CVA and SF-12 measures were administered to patients in the 2 groups before and after 4 weeks of treatment, respectively,to assess the patients’ treatment effects. The results of the indexes were statistically analysed using SPSS 23.0software and P < 0.05 indicated that the results were statistically significant. Results: 1)There were no statistically significant differences in age and gender information between the two groups of subjects(P > 0.05),and there were no statistically significant differences in any of the pre-treatment assessments(P > 0.05),therefore the data are comparable.2)After four weeks of treatment, patients with cervical spondylosis in the combined treatment group and the conventional treatment group showed statistically significant improvements in cervical joint ROM,VAS,NDI,CVA and SF-12 scale all showed significant improvement(P < 0.05).3)After four weeks of treatment, patients in the combined treatment group showed better improvement in VAS,cervical flexion and rotation range of motion,NDI,CVA and SF-12 mental component scores than those in the conventional treatment group, with significant differences(P < 0.05).Conclusion:1)Both pulsation therapy and conventional treatment have a good effect on pain and function in patients with cervical cervical spondylosis.2)Pulsation therapy improves pain and function in patients with cervical cervical spondylosis better than conventional treatment alone.
