Ontology is an important knowledge base resource that can support many research and applications in the field of natural language processing. Most ontologies are based on word or concepts and describe the relationship between static units. There are obvious defects in expressing dynamic and complex semantics of natural language events.Carrying on ontology construction work from a new perspective to support higher-level natural language semantic information expression has become one of the research focuses of scholars in various fields.Events are the basic unit of knowledge for people to understand the world and the core content of natural language semantics.Based on the study of lexical ontology, this paper finds that traditional lexical ontology does not involve event semantics, such as Word Net;or it is insufficient in representing event semantics, such as Frame Net.Therefore, this paper proposes to analyze the semantic structure of lexical from the perspective of events, and to unify the concept of language concepts on the semantics of events to form a lexical ontology.First, this article defines events, and proposes an event semantic model based on the MGraph to support the construction of lexical ontology. As a semantic data model of graph structure,MGraph uses meaning to express people’s subjective understanding of things in their minds, and uses four meta-meaning associations(combination, specialization, reference, equivalence)to describe the relationship between meanings. The MGraph describes complex natural language semantics in a simple and natural way.The event semantic model based on the MGraph can effectively represent the semantic relationship between events and events, and the elements between events and events. Then, this article discusses the semantic structure of natural language lexical in the event semantic model. On the one hand, active words in natural language can usually determine the semantic structure of events. Therefore, this paper uses Parsons subatomic semantic analysis method to analyze the semantic structure of terminal verbs and continuous verbs, and uses the pattern description language to express. On the other hand, nouns, adjectives, and adverbs can also have a great influence on event interpretation. This article analyzes the event semantics of typical nouns, adjectives, and adverbs.Compared with traditional lexical ontology, analyzing the semantics of lexical from the perspective of events is more in line with people’s cognition, and at the same time it can provide a new way of thinking for the construction of lexical ontology.
