A Multi-Dimensional Study Of Chinese New Words In The New Era Based On Corpus Technology

The survey of new words is of great significance and application value in Chinese lexicology.This research is based on the annual new words of Language Situation in China 2007-2019 and the multi-media corpus of over 1.5 billion characters constructed and relied on by ourselves,from the qualitative+quantitative aspects,the synchronic structure of the annual new words,the diachronic evolutionary trend,the actual characteristics of the use of different media,and the survival mode of the annual new words are investigated and studied.The research has reached the following conclusions:1.Through the investigation of the word length distribution characteristics of the annual new words in 12 years,it is found that the three syllable words are the characteristics of the new words in the new era,and this characteristic is not consistent.2.When three syllable new words are generated in an Comparability&Similarity combination mode,the influencing factors are cognitive association,the monophonic components are attached to the two-tone prosodic words to satisfy the super foot prosodic words,and compound word formation is mainly based on attributive structure,this new word generation method conforms to the cognitive and expression habits of Chinese users.Word pattern cluster generation plays an important role in boosting the growth of three syllable new words,and 72.1%of three syllable words are generated through this pattern.3.Comparing the three types of corpus that use new words alone and the average word length of new words used,it is found that the difference between Danmu and People’s Daily is much higher than the difference with the audio media;the average word length of new words used in People’s Daily,the audio media,Danmu is 3.14,3.04 and 2.58 syllables respectively,which is in line with the more serious and standardized language use of People’s Daily,especially the stricter use of new words,and the tendency to use longer new words;in contrast,the audio media uses more active words than People’s Daily,while Danmu corpus is the most lively and casual in language use.4.Through the comparison of the distribution of new words used in newspapers,audio media,and Danmu,it is found that when the three types of corpus pay more attention to social hotspots,People’s Daily pays more attention to the content of the political field,and the audio media pays more attention to the life field,Danmu corpus pays the least attention to the content of the political field.5.This research independently constructed the continuity judgment function ConF()function for judging the survival mode of new words.The research uses this function to investigate the survival mode of new words,the investigation found that:in the three types of corpus,the two syllable new words have strong stability and high survival rate;three syllable new words occasionally,although it is produced in large numbers,it does not have the ability to change the deep structure of modern Chinese vocabulary from the perspective of its evolution in the time axis.In this paper,a self-built media corpus and a database of the usage forms of new words are constructed to investigate,statistics and analyze the real usage forms of new words in different media for the first time,the investigation of the use conditions is based on large-scale real texts,and the conclusions are supported by quantitative data,it can provide a reference for the standardization of new words and the compilation of new words lexicon,and it can also provide a reference for people to recognize new changes in the characteristics of new words.
