The number of international students studying in China has been increasing.Due to differences in regions and cultures,they will encounter unexpected challenges and adaptation problems in unfamiliar cultures,and may suffer mental or psychological pressure,which affects life satisfaction.Therefore,We should pay attention to the cross-cultural adaptation of international students.And cultural intelligence can solve problems in cross-cultural contexts.So investigate the overall level of cultural intelligence,cross-cultural adaptation and life satisfaction of international students in China,and use empirical analysis to analyze the relationship between these three variables,which have positive significance for international students to adapt to a new environment.This study selected 359 international students from universities in Xiamen as the research object,selected cultural intelligence as the entry point,based on the relevant theories and collected data through questionnaires,and used SPSS 24.0 and AMOS 25.0 software Analyze the data and analyze the overall situation of international students’ cross-cultural adaptation and life satisfaction in China,and how they are affected.Finally,this article discusses based on the research results,and proposes suggestions from the perspective of cultural intelligence,which to improve cross-cultural adaptation and life satisfaction of international students.The research results show that:(1)The overall mean values of cultural intelligence,cross-cultural adaptation,and life satisfaction of international students in Xiamen are relatively high,but their individual levels vary greatly;(2)Some cultural intelligence dimensions of international students in Xiamen has a positive effect on cross-cultural adaptation and life satisfaction;(3)Cross-cultural adaptation is highly correlated with life satisfaction;(4)Cultural intelligence has a positive adjustment to the relationship between cross-cultural adaptation and life satisfaction,that means the higher the cultural intelligence of international students,the greater the impact of their cross-cultural adaptation on life satisfaction.In terms of theoretical contribution,this article expands the research on the antecedent variables of life satisfaction,verifies the moderating effect of cultural intelligence on cross-cultural adaptation and life satisfaction,and deepens the research of cultural intelligence in cross-cultural adaptation.The following research can focuses on verifying the impact of motivational cultural intelligence on international students’ academic adaptation and life satisfaction. |
