The Study On The Prepositions In Yuzhou Dialect

This thesis studies the prepositions in Yuzhou dialect mainly from three aspects.Firstly,we describe the basic semantic functions and usages of every preposition in Yuzhou dialect systematically.Secondly,we try to discover the characteristics of some prepositions in Yuzhou dialect by comparison.Thirdly,we try to explain some phenomenons in Yuzhou dialect by discuss the processes of grammaticalization of some prepositions.To describe the Yuzhou dialect systematically,we devide the prepositions in Yuzhou dialect into five major categories according to the actual situations: spatial prepositions,time prepositions,object prepositions,causal prepositions and way prepositions.That five categories are juxtaposed at the logical level and are common aspects of semantic which related to predicate in Chinese language.There are 16 subclasses in that five categories to ensure no conflict and repetition of preposition between every subclass.Then we compare the prepositions in Yuzhou dialect with the prepositions in mandarin and Zhongyuan mandarin in order of spatial prepositions,time prepositions,object prepositions,causal prepositions and way prepositions.We discover the characteristics of some prepositions in Yuzhou dialect by that comparison.We also discuss the processes of grammaticalization of Gei(给),Zhang(掌)and Jiao(叫).The processes of grammaticalization of Gei are “Give>Benefactive>Dative”,“Give > Benefactive > Direction > Comitative > Conjunctive”,“Give >Benefactive > Right location > Starting location/Passing location//Exist”.The processes of grammaticalization of Zhang are “Verb>Tool>Dispose>Factitive”.The processes of grammaticalization of Jiao are “Verb>Factitive>Passive/Dispose”.
