Research on the spread and influence of Magic Realism in Hong Kong is an important part of "Magic Realism in China" and "Modernism in Hong Kong".On the basis of systematically arranging relevant historical materials,this paper comprehensively uses the methods of text analysis and comparative research to expound the translation,introduction and "localization" of magical realism in Hong Kong.The introduction part clarifies the scope of magic realism,introduces the important research results of magic realism and "magic realism in China",briefly analyzes some shortcomings of current research,and briefly explains the significance of this research.The main body is divided into three chapters.The first chapter introduces,in chronological order,the translation and introduction of magical realism in Hong Kong from the 1960s to the present.The translation and introduction of Latin American writers clearly shows the dynamic process of magical realism drifting to Hong Kong.The second chapter discusses the novel creations by local Hong Kong writers such as Xixi,Ye Si and Wu Xubin under the influence of magic realism.The selected writers have actively participated in the translation,introduction and dissemination of magical realism in Hong Kong,and have a deep understanding of this literary trend.When they wrote their novels,they combined magical realism with traditional Chinese culture,new French novels and other types of modernist art,and at the same time incorporated Hong Kong’s local customs and personal life experience,successfully exploring magical realism in a unique way The "localization" of Hong Kong promoted the development of modernist literature and realist literature in Hong Kong in the 1970s and 1980s.The third chapter analyzes the spread of magical realism in Hong Kong and across the Taiwan Strait,focusing on Hong Kong from the overall perspective of the literary landscape.Taking full advantage of its cultural hybridity and geographical location,Hong Kong has’ absorbed the unmasked magical realism.At the same time,Hong Kong’s literary and art circles pay close attention to the cross-strait literary developments such as cultural"roots",Mo Yan’s award,Zhang Dachun’s novel creation,etc.,which are influenced by magical realism,and actively promote the exchange and interaction of localized achievements of magical realism between different regions.The conclusion part summarizes the main research content,points out the shortcomings of this research,and proposes the possibility of carrying out related research in the future.The appendix includes articles about Latin American writers translated and introduced by major Hong Kong literary and art publications,version information of Latin American literary criticism articles in Xixi’s "I Am Such a Reader",and articles by Hong Kong’s major literary and art publications criticizing Mo Yan.for reference. |
