Thesis:chu Chia-hua And Korean Independence Movement In China

This thesis,which is based on Chinese Kuomintang internal materials related to Korean independence movement between Chu Chia-hua and Korean independence movement personages,sorts out Chu Chia-hua’s aid contents and attitudes,so as to reveal the reality of the aid.Furthermore,the influences of Chu Chia-hua’s aid on Korean independence movement were analyzed as a result.After the outbreak of Anti-Japanese War,Chinese Kuomintang officially launched aid activities for Korean independence movement,changing its nature from ‘goodwill assistance’ to ‘active intervention’.At that time,Chu Chia-hua played a significant role in Korean independence movement.Firstly,this thesis sorts out Chu Chia-hua’s political ideas,which would be the ideological basis for Chu Chia-hua’s all activities.Then,based on the main aid to Korean Independence Movement,Chu Chia-hua’s attitudes and influences were sorted out.In order to unify the Korean revolutionary forces in China,Chu Chia-hua developed aid system by selecting aid objects and formulating aid plans.Chu Chia-hua was committed to the work of ‘clearing the party’,so all Korean revolutionary forces except Korean Communist Party have become economic aid targets.Therefore,it seemed that various Korean political parties formed a united front under the intervention of Chinese Kuomintang.However,ideological disagreement among the parties,coupled with Chinese Kuomintang’s economic aid,was contributed to the absolute division of the parties in Korea.Chu Chia-hua obtained Chiang Kai-shek’s approval and promoted the establishment of Korean Liberation Army.Chu Chia-hua contacted the military authorities to promote official approval of Korean Liberation Army and submitted a management plan.Chu Chia-hua’s opinions became the matrix of Korean Liberation Army’s Nine Action Programs.Until it was abolished in 1944,Korean Liberation Army was subordinate to Chinese Military Commission.Therefore,Korean military forces in China were assembled under Chinese Kuomintang and became the part of the Chinese Kuomintang’s anti-Japanese front.In addition,as a considerable part of Korean Volunteer League arrived in northern Shanxi province to receive the aid of Chinese Communist Party,Chu Chia-hua stopped the aid in Korean National Revolutionary Party,so that Korean Volunteer League was incorporated into Korean Liberation Army.Chu Chia-hua proposed to Chinese Kuomintang to recognize Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea.As the leader of the China League of Nations Comrades Association,Chu Chia-hua was committed to diplomatic activities for promoting international cooperation and calling on alliance countries to fight against Japan.Under the trend of anti-fascism,the recognition of Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea was a great opportunity to enhance China’s international status,and it can also prevent the loss of power in Korea due to the establishment of the Soviet government in Korea.In addition,this move was also part of the response to post-war diplomatic purposes.However,Kuomintang authorities did not actively accept Chu Chia-hua’s opinion.In short,Chu Chia-hua who was in charge of aiding in Korean Independence Movement,played an important role in guiding the direction of aid,advancing the formulation and implementation of aid policies from basic tenet of "auxiliary and application".
