With the continuous integration and development of the Internet and big data,people have entered the era of knowledge and image.The opportunities to acquire knowledge are becoming more and more diverse,receiving more and more information,which brings big challenges to teaching.In this context,the author applies knowledge visualization tools to English Reading Teaching in junior middle school,trying to explore the teaching auxiliary role of knowledge visualization tools.Firstly,through literature research,the author reviews the research status of knowledge visualization tools at home and abroad,points out that there are some problems in the research,such as insufficient pertinence,expounds the theoretical basis,and summarizes the three core concepts of knowledge visualization,knowledge visualization tools and visual thinking.Secondly,through the analysis of student questionnaires and teacher interview records,we can understand the current situation of English Teaching in junior middle school.At the same time,two classes were selected as the survey objects,the experimental class was taught in the way of knowledge visualization,and the control class was still taught in the traditional way.The students’ pre-test and post-test reading scores were analyzed by SPSS software.In order to apply knowledge visualization tools better to English Reading Teaching in junior middle school,this study puts forward the following questions:(1)What is the current situation and problems of using knowledge visualization tools in junior middle school English reading teaching?(2)Can the use of knowledge visualization tools optimize the teaching effect and improve students’ English reading level?Through the analysis of data and teaching practice,the author draws the following conclusions:(1)Teachers and students have a certain understanding of knowledge visualization tools,but which are not in-depth.(2)Knowledge visualization tools can integrate scattered knowledge and improve students’ reading cognition effectively.
