| The increasing development and exchanges in science and technology results in the importance of scientific and technological translation.Scientific and technological texts are different from traditional literary texts,but the two texts are not completely incompatible.Under the ideal scientific and technological translation model,the translation must be rigorous,and highly readable.The translation cannot only correctly convey the meaning of the original,but take into account the unique aesthetic characteristics presented by the original.This report selects three academic journal papers from Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers(IEEE)as translation materials.In the papers,the dielectric characteristics of the motor,the DC test of the stator winding and the insulation characteristics are mainly expounded,with a bit obscure and incomprehensible content and professional knowledge.Accordingly,it is difficult to translate.Through case analysis,this report deeply analyzes the problems and solutions encountered by the translator in translating these academic papers.In translating long and difficult sentences,differences in the structure and logical order between two language sentence patterns should be dealt with.Through omission,adaptation and other translation methods,the sentences should be disassembled,and complex long English sentences should be translated into multiple short sentences,and arranged in accordance with the Chinese logical order.According to Chinese wording expressions,certain parts of speech should be converted to make the translation more brief,logical and authentic.In the translation,the translator strives to comply with the translation requirements of scientific and technological text,so that the translation conforms to objectivity and truthfulness,simplicity and accessibleness,and rigorous logic,accurately conveys scientific and technological information,and promotes each other in theory and practice,in order to provide some ideas and inspiration for later researchers. |
