As the communication of different cultures becomes more closely in fields like academic and business, it sets higher requirements for translation. Translation needs to meet the demand of high correctness as well as timeliness. Therefore, traditional ways of translation cannot meet the increasing translation demand. Computer aided translation tools represented by SDL Trados can ease the contradiction between traditional human translation and increasing translation demand. And CAT software has a special part of translation memory. It can memorize the translated texts thus they can be used in other similar texts, which largely reduce the stress of the translators and these memorized materials can also be used in corpus research. The translation report based on three scientific and technical papers translated by the author introduces the whole translation practice. This report is divided into four parts like task description, translation process, case analysis, and conclusion. The first part mainly introduces the translation practice including the client, the requirements of the client, and basic information of the original texts. The second part is the translation process. The author describes three parts of pre-translation, translation and proofreading and mainly introduces the important role of CAT tools play in this practice and the quality control in each process. The third part is about some important cases and the methods or techniques used in translating them. Finally, a translation report summary is made in the last part.
