The study of personality originated from the philosophy of religion in Ancient Greece,and now it plays an important role in social life and is a focus of research in international communication.The author of“Japanese character” is a famous Japanese psychologist,Ayumi Miyagi,who gives examples of the ordered geographical division of Japan and related historical figures in Japan,to summarize and support the characteristics of the people in different regions,and to explore the causes and characteristics of the personality of the people in different regions of Japan from a scientific perspective.This report takes the Japanese-chinese translation practice of the Japanese character as an example and combines the theory of translation compensation.This book in the description of the Japanese character reflects a strong logic,as well as the text of causality.Therefore,in the process of translation,the loss,loss and incompleteness of lexical meaning,grammatical structure and discourse logic are inevitable,find out the features of the text,and then translate the target language readers reading habits,logical habits of the translation.At last,the thesis makes use of case study and contrastive analysis,combining with the theory of translation compensation,to make a deep-seated translation compensation on the three levels of vocabulary.This translation practice report is divided into four chapters.Chapter One makes a systematic introduction to the translation task,the research of compensation theory and the process of translation.In chapter two,the author introduces the concept of translation compensation theory and the compensation methods at various levels.The compensation level provided in a study of translation compensation can be divided into two categories:one is linguistic level,the other is aesthetic level,however,there is little compensation at the linguistic level,so the theoretical application level is one of the innovations in this translation practice.In chapter three,the author makes a deep analysis of the compensation process of translation compensation theory at three levels by using 29 groups of example sentences.This translation practice adopts the Japanese text instead of the English text used in the previous translation compensation theory,so the compensation angle should be close to the characteristics of Japanese expression,and the compensation method should be explored from the linguistic level,translation compensation is carried out in terms of vocabulary,grammar and text.In chapter four,the author summarizes the achievements and experiences in this translation practice and the application of this report in psychology.This translation practice report can be used as a psychological support in the cultural exchange between China and Japan,providing readers with a new perspective of geographical scope to understand and explore the Japanese personality.
