Design And Research On Three-dimensional Creative Fonts

Creative fonts design is an in-depth exploration of the graphical and formal language of fonts,and among many forms of expression,three-dimensional expression techniques occupy an important position.Based on the exploration of space and the presentation of fonts from different angles,three-dimensional creative fonts are shown in graphic design(signs,posters,packaging,etc.),urban public art(sculptures,installations,etc.),architectural design,product design,and new media art.With the development of digital technology,the expression of three-dimensional creative font design is more innovative and diverse.It not only conveys information through the form of the font,but also through the visual expression of three-dimensional sense,making the transmission of information more vivid,three-dimensional,and interesting.In August 2022,after the National Cutural Heritage Administration confirmed the Beijing Central Axis as a recommended project for China’s 2024 World Cultural Heritage,the study of the Beijing Central Axis culture has become increasingly important in helping Beijing Central Axis apply for World Heritage,helping to enhance the "soft power" of China’s excellent traditional culture,and accelerating the transformation of cultural narrative from "listening to stories" to "telling good stories about China" and then to "telling good stories about China and the world".During my graduate studies,I deeply participated in the design of the Beijing Central Axis World Heritage Site application logo with my supervisor,and designed a series of signage mainly based on font.Taking this as an opportunity,the idea of stimulating new vitality in Beijing’s central axis culture from the perspective of three-dimensional creative font design emerged.By refining the relevant elements of the Beijing Central Axis,a series of three-dimensional creative fonts with Beijing Central Axis themes have been designed,exploring an interesting path for the public to understand the culture of the Central Axis.While inheriting the essence of Beijing’s central axis culture,it also showcases the value of three-dimensional creative fonts in information transmission and cultural dissemination.This article first investigates and analyzes the current situation and research results of three-dimensional creative fonts at home and abroad.At the same time,it conducts research on design works related to the Beijing central axis,and summarizes the research ideas and methods.On this basis,this article explores the concept and development of three-dimensional creative fonts,and finds that with the progress of the times,the application forms of three-dimensional creative fonts have become increasingly diverse.Secondly,from the perspectives of artistic features and expressive techniques,a comprehensive design logic is summarized through the analysis of excellent three-dimensional creative font works.Next,with the Beijing Central Axis as the theme,creative ideas and design practices were carried out using design logic.Field research was conducted on the Beijing Central Axis,and suitable texts were selected as the creative basis.Four forms of expression were used,including the composition from surface to body,the attachment of material and texture,the combination of dynamic transformation,and the presentation of sound and character interaction,to create the "Central Axis · 3D Character Fun" three-dimensional creative font.Finally,the interactive mode of three-dimensional creative fonts was further expanded through application effect display and extended design.This study provides a theoretical and practical basis for the design of three-dimensional creative fonts,showcasing the design achievements and application potential of the "central axis · three-dimensional character interest" three-dimensional creative fonts.I hope this article can provide relevant data support for the 2024 Beijing Central Axis World Heritage Application,and provide some reference work for relevant scholars’ future research in this field.
