| Cooperative learning ability is regarded as one of the basic qualities of the 21 st century.Cooperative learning is advocated in English Curriculum Standards(2017)and Core Literacy System of Chinese Students(2014).Cooperative learning refers to a process in which group members perform duties and complete tasks together under the guidance of teachers.At the same time,the new curriculum standard reform also points out that students should carry out cooperative learning in English classes,so as to improve students’ comprehensive English skills.In recent years,English reading teaching has developed rapidly in our country.However,due to many factors,the effect of English reading teaching is unsatisfactory.In the current English reading class,teachers mostly adopt the traditional reading methods that focus on knowledge teaching and practice,such as grammar,syntax,vocabulary and translation of the original text,which lacks the interaction between teachers and students.Students are unable to really understand the author’s intention and the content of the article.As a result,Students lose interest in English reading and lack subjective initiative.This study explicitly answers the following three questions: 1.What is the present situation of cooperative learning in high school English reading class? 2.What are the problems and causes? 3.How to integrate cooperative Learning into high school reading classroom effectively? The objects of this study are 220 students and 12 teachers in Grade two of senior high school in Tong Liao City.This study adopts questionnaire survey,interview,classroom observation and SPSS data analysis.The results show that 1.Cooperative learning is widely used in English reading class Teachers and students have high acceptance and cognition of cooperative learning,and only a few English teachers and students have weak cooperative consciousness.2.Some students have low motivation when cooperative learning is applied to high school English reading class.The grouping pattern is fixed.In addition,cooperative activities are varied,but the duty of each student is not clear.The activity of time allocation is not reasonable.Cooperative learning is a mere formality.The main reasons for these problems are that some students have a weak sense of cooperation,not interested in the content of cooperation,the teachers’ evaluation method is single,and teaching content is not sufficient.3.Finally,to give full play to cooperative learning,it is necessary to improve the awareness of cooperation,optimize the learning content,improve the grouping form,and innovate the evaluation mechanism. |
