The Influence Of Facial Trustworthiness On Social Mindfulness:the Role Of Attachment Security

Social mindfulness is an individual’s behavior of caring,respecting and protecting others’needs and rights of choice in interpersonal interaction.As a positive and low-cost prosocial behavior,individuals can make the decision of social mindfulness in a short time.Facial information is the first information perceived in interpersonal interaction,and facial trustworthiness is an important part of facial perception,which affects people’s behavioral decisions.People are more willing to invest more in people with high facial trustworthiness,help people with high facial trustworthiness,and support candidates with high facial trustworthiness.Previous studies have discussed the influence of facial trustworthiness on social mindfulness in western facial materials.However,does facial trustworthiness still affect social mindfulness in eastern facial materials?In addition,low facial trustworthiness is threat stimulus,and previous studies have shown that individuals’ processing of threat stimulus will be affected by other factors,such as personality in individual factors.Secure attachment style is an important personality characteristic,which can weaken the influence of threatening stimuli on individuals.Studies at the neural level and behavioral level both show that facial trustworthiness and secure attachment jointly affect the responses and behaviors of individuals.The human-situation interaction theory also holds that individual factors and situation factors can jointly affect individual psychology and behavior.So do facial trustworthiness and secure attachment influence social mindfulness together?In addition,primed state secure attachment has similar effects to trait secure attachment.In view of the above,this study divided attachment security of individual factors into trait security attachment and state security attachment,and combined with the facial trustworthiness factor in the situation to explore its impact on social mindfulness.According to the level of conscious processing of the priming stimulus,the priming mode can be divided into supraliminal priming and subliminal priming.Subliminal priming has the characteristics of reducing the individual’s defense strategy and reducing the influence of the experimental task itself.Therefore,this study use supraliminal priming and subliminal priming mode respectively to investigate the role of state security attachment.In experiment 1,Chinese trustworthy faces and SoMi paradigm were used to verify the influence of facial trustworthiness on social mindfulness.In experiment 2,individuals with secure attachment and insecure attachment were screened by questionnaire to explore the influence of secure attachment style factors and facial trustworthiness on social mindfulness.Experiment 3a used supraliminal priming,experiment 3b used subliminal priming,to explore the role of state secure attachment in the influence of facial trustworthiness on social mindfulness.The results are as follows:(1)Facial trustworthiness affects social mindfulness.The results of the three experiments all found that individuals had significantly higher social mindfulness towards high trustworthiness faces than low trustworthiness faces.(2)Secure attachment affects social mindfulness.Trait secure attachment individuals were significantly higher than trait insecure attachment individuals;In supraliminal priming,the social mindfulness of secure attachment were significantly higher than those of neutral priming and insecure priming.In subliminal priming,state secure attachment has no significant advantage.(3)Secure attachment and facial trustworthiness affect social mindfulness together.There was no significant difference between high and low trustworthiness faces in trait secure attachment individuals.Individuals with insecure attachment strips showed significantly higher social mindfulness toward high trustworthiness faces than low trustworthiness faces.At the level of state security attachment(subliminal),there was a significant difference between the safe priming group and the neutral priming group in the social mindfulness of high and low trustworthiness faces,while the insecure priming group had no significant difference in the social mindfulness of high and low trustworthiness faces.In conclusion,facial trustworthiness has an influence on social mindfulness,people have high social mindfulness toward high facial trustworthiness people.Trait and supraliminal priming state security attachment promote social mindfulness.In the influence of facial trustworthiness on social mindfulness,trait secure attachment plays a moderating role,which shows that secure attachment individuals show higher social mindfulness regardless of high or low face trustworthiness.No moderating effect of state security attachment was found.
