| Non-suicidal self-injury(referred to as self-injury)refers to the act of intentionally destroying one’s own body tissue without the intention of death.Self-injury is most common in adolescence or early adulthood,and the onset of behavior is around the age of 12-14,which is the middle school stage.Self-injurious behavior accounts for approximately 7.5%-46.5% of the adolescent population,and has become a global public health issue of concern.The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between parental autonomous support,satisfaction of basic psychological needs,psychological resilience and junior high school students’ self-injurious behavior.The results of this study can not only enrich the theoretical research on self-injurious behavior,but also provide educators with targeted educational suggestions,so as to reduce the risk of junior high school students’ group self-injury.This study selected 688 junior high school students as subjects,and used the Parent Selfsupport Scale,the Basic Psychological Needs Satisfaction Scale,the Connor Davidson psychological resilience Scale,and the Self injury Questionnaire as research tools to explore the impact of parental self-support on non-suicidal self-injury behaviors of junior high school students,and the chain mediating role of basic psychological needs satisfaction and psychological resilience between the two.The following conclusions were drawn from this study:(1)There are significant differences in gender,only child and non-only child,and father’s educational level in meeting basic psychological needs;There are significant differences in psychological resilience in gender,only child and non-only child,and father’s educational level;There are significant differences in grade,gender,only child and non-only child selfinjury among junior high school students.(2)Parents’ self-support was positively correlated with basic psychological needs and psychological resilience,and negatively correlated with self-injury.The satisfaction of basic psychological needs was positively correlated with psychological resilience and negatively correlated with self-injury.There was a significant negative correlation between psychological resilience and self-injury.(3)Parental autonomy support has a significant negative predictive effect on self-injury among junior high school students.Parental self-support has a significant positive predictive effect on basic psychological needs satisfaction,while basic psychological needs satisfaction has a significant negative predictive effect on self-injury in middle school students.Basic psychological needs satisfaction plays a partial mediating role between parental self-support and self-injury in middle school students.(4)Parents’ autonomous support has a significant positive predictive effect on psychological resilience,psychological resilience has a significant negative predictive effect on junior high school students’ self-injury,and psychological resilience plays a partial mediating role between parents’ autonomous support and junior high school students’ selfinjury.(5)The satisfaction of basic psychological needs and psychological resilience play a chain mediating role between parental self-support and self-injury.This study proposes the following educational recommendations:(1)Strengthen family school cooperation and pay attention to self-harm behavior among junior high school students;(2)Guide junior high school students to properly handle life events and academic pressure;(3)Create an environment of independent support for junior high school students in multiple aspects;(4)Meeting the psychological needs of middle school students;(5)Improve the level of psychological resilience of junior high school students. |
